I work with quite a few Chinese and Indian engineers, I've met only one who has a talent for engineering, he was educated in the US. I've worked with a couple of people from IIT which is comparable to a US school. I think the problem is that when someone does not grow up around technology, they have a steeper learning curve as opposed to kids that grow up with PC's and X-Boxes. For example I once worked with a guy with a Master's in Mechanical Engineering who did not know what a ratchet was.

Many Indian engineers are jokes. I know some graduates with bachelor degree in Engineering from some Indian universities, who can not solve problems like: (3x+5)/(2x-7)=(8-6x)/(11x+3). Many of them are just good at mouth instead of Math- .bragging and bluffing.

I checked about the mechanic in china staff. the answer I received is: "Never heard of a mechanic is entitled as an engineer! there are 3 levels in between: technician, technologist and assist engineer!" I work with quite a few Chinese and Indian engineers, I've met only one who has a talent for engineering, he was educated in the US. I've worked with a couple of people from IIT which is comparable to a US school. I think the problem is that when someone does not grow up around technology, they have a steeper learning curve as opposed to kids that grow up with PC's and X-Boxes. For example I once worked with a guy with a Master's in Mechanical Engineering who did not know what a ratchet was.

If found a high percentage from India and China - but that does not mean they were technical leads who created new techology. Name a Fortune 500 technology company that was founded by an H1B? And even the best Hindian tutors are good, this does not off-set the low quality engineers manufactured from crappy indian post-secondaries because of the poor education quality control in india. what u did is ignoring the truth and critising chinese ppl using fabricated stories.

I checked about the mechanic in china staff. the answer I received is: "Never heard of a mechanic is entitled as an engineer! there are 3 levels in between: technician, technologist and assist engineer!" May I ask from whom you heard about it? Maybe you just replaced India with China for that mechanic to be engineer things?

• Like this "professor", he is just smartly belittling others so to raise his compatriots - hindians. And craftily gives the audience an idea that since US itself cannot provide enough engineers and needs supply from outside, the best choice is to take in Hindians. Bad luck for him is that most of the Hindian engineers are very poorly trained probably due to the low and loose requirements. The system there sucks.

On the other hand, I do agree there are good Hindian engineers. So, when hiring Hindian engineers, no matter how good their resume is or how excellent they tell you they are or whatever feats they did. Just give them an on-spot test of the real down to earth techincal and engineering things. Shit or shine!

Just ask the hundreds of thousands of talented Americans that trained their Indian what the differential is. If corporations want to make money for shareholders let them outsourse the CEO's, and all management positions, for pennies on the dollar to India. Any idiot can lower wages, fire people and sell off assets. Can the CEO do the work that made the landmark success for the company? In almost every case the answer is NO!

i agree a lot of chinese graduate are not good, but indian graduate? They are just jokes. I have so many indian friends in computer science who are capable of any form of programming.
If you really want me to name some good things about indians, i have to say the best they are in is bragging. Also they are better at English, and maybe public speaking. Nothing more.

I have plenty of Chinese friends, and I work with Chinese colleagues every day, I have met PRETTY sucky programmers there too, but I did not generalize that to saying all of China sucks in programming. LOL.

Overpopulation == low wages + high competition for jobs. Morally and ethically outsourcing is wrong. But Money has little to do with ethics and morales in a scarce world. All I can say is, us privileged westerners had better start getting used to the idea that we're going to join the lower class, as overpopulation is getting worse. India is good at one thing, multiplying. Like an efficient virus, and the world is their host.
