If this god is right independent of his might, then it isn't religion at all that tells what is right and wrong, but an independent source, likely just common sense and love.

Why is everyone getting so upset? I'm glad none of you were in this audience. Most of your comments show a complete lack of proffessionalism or respect concerning this well educated rabbi. . . . Not even Hitchens would condone your comments because he has at least a small element of class. I am bothered that religion often argues things both ways; that nature is too ideal to have evolved on its own and that people are so base / animalistic that in no way can one have morals without religion. Like any dogma, there are horrific contradictions.

i'm watching these in reverse order, and i'm increasingly convinced the rabbi is drunk.
the only thing so far that i will concede is that religion is not the cause of all evil. its just another reason to cause evil...one of many.
and many of the arguments the rabbi is using seem to CONFIRM what he is arguing AGAINST. that man is an animal. that man often behaves as one.
this isn't much of a debate on the rabbi's side...its a lecture, and one that is off-base generally.
