This is probably the most useless demostation ever. Why are we destroying cars to show that train tracks can kill you? Who is this targetted at? People so fucking stupid that they don't realise the risk of driving or running into the path of a speeding train? I can't believe there are actully people on this planet that are that stupid.
@QullVideo You'd be surprised how dull people are towards PSAs. The Driver's Ed class I was in was ignoring the very poorly done video from 1992 about railroad crossing safety until they saw the car getting hit. You'd be surprised how far people have their head in their asses.
@SantaFebuff "Duuh, look at dat people on der tv. If I kill meh self driving on train tracks I be on videostar and always famous! Duuuhhh!!!!" - Is what I'd expect someone in your drivers ed to be thinking when their being shown a video about railroad safety.
From as far as I can remember I knew that when the alarm sounds and/or the barrier is down that I should not cross. I'm not having a go at safety videos because they play part of the role in making workplaces everywhere safer.
@QullVideo for starters, I can't believe you go to the effort of actually typing "fucking". It's targeted at the one person who it might rethink their behaviour at level crossings.. The sequence gives gravitas to the message. People just don't think. This is an effort, and one of many to try and make people think.
@waywardsons67 It seems rather pointless that people need to be told that train tracks are dangerous. And why would you type that you are offended by the word fucking? Fuck fuck fuckity fuck.. It’s the 21st Century.
@nickthegodly Yes. It was development to save vital routes at risk of being lost by the defunct Penn Central and keep them in operation. Conrail is one of the few government companies that were wildly successful, and the assests were purchased by NS and CSX is 2000.
@skinnyshit8888 Well, Conrail didn't exactly break up. The government company was purchased and split between two private companies, CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern Railways.
What a budget for the crash test dummies. Great Video though.

Despite this, many people STILL think a train can stop on a dime.

I remember Conrail used to run through Brockton, MA. Now all the freight trains going through here are CSX (the MBTA owns the line though)
