This morning I decided to make my first cross country solo a flight to Brenham for a $100 hamburger. To my dismay the diner was closed. I ate a glucose tablet for lunch, flew home and had a hamburger in Lockhart.
This place is awesome!! It is the first trip I took after I got my pilots license! I took a buddy from work and we enjoyed it so much!! Everyone should go at LEAST once!!
Their hamburgers are indeed exceptional, but don't pass up their chilie and cornbread either (my personal favorite). But they have a full menu and it's all really great. I fly out of Conroe (KCXO) so for me the "100 Dollar Hamburger" runs about $130 to $150 bucks depending on whether I fly the Aerobat or the Archer ( sadly, still renting for now ). If you go there be sure to take your camera inside. Everyone loves to take pictures of the "Poodle Girls". Just got home from there.
@Rikki0 Just got a big discount on my $100.00 hamburger. Just got a Cherokee 140 so it now costs me around $40.00 for the round trip from KCXO. ( Discounting the $30,000.00 for the Cherokee, $450.00 a month hangar fee, $880.00 a year insurance, maintnance fees, and...........hmmm..........? ) Hang on a second. Recalculating. This could take awhile. I'll get back to you. Heh. Still well worth the trip.
