@msrbbc Lately he will occasionally put up 2 or 3 whistles at a time on ebay, mostly Hi Ds recently. They usually last minutes. I think ebay is the only way to get a new Copeland these days.
I live in Texas but the music there is just amazing. I don't get to listen to it as often as I would like. If I get the chance I would love to see y'all play. Maybe in the future?
@ianmacdonagh Sorry for the late reply. I'll remember to add you! Think I've met Jarlath Henderson at a session after the BBC Young Scottish musician of the Year gig. Fine player. Is he one of the lads in Breabach?
Thanks for the support. Also check out the links for our myspace and Choonz's youtube channel. This is an old youtube accont and i forget the details
The tunes are Lads of Laois/ The Big Reel of Ballinacally/ Black Pat's (The set's called "Lads of Lash"!) The first's originally from scottish/donegal repetoire (in scotland it appears in collections as the "Lads of Leith" The second was written by Carmel O'Dea from Ballinacally, the third is by Donegal fiddler Tommy Peoples. Thanks for the encouragement! - Paul Garner, Choonz.
@msrbbc thanks so much for replying and really nice to get to speak to one of you guys too, i play low whistle, think I've sent a friends request on myspace, you guys on Facebook?
ah your playing and arrangement is just stunning Paul, am being taught by Jarlath henderson in Aberdeen, and hoping one day to be able to play like you both, working on ornamentation as the rest of my playing is good.
Lovely music. I was the chiff and fipple you met on the library steps today Paul. I'll be watching out for Choonz in future. Good choice of name. easy to remember!
Great. Have you ever been in Turkey? I think I hear some Turkish music sound, like "Hicaz" if I'm not wrong and if you put especially, it's awesome. And you holding the arc like Anatolian style?
