  • original half life gravity gun :)

  • excuse me i'm planning to buy a cthulhu mythos book and mind telling me if i should play this 1st before getting the books?

  • @daggertail1000 This game is a very light adaptation of the story Shadow over innsmouth, but has a really DOPE chase scene, you'll meet the old drunk man that spills the beans, hydra, deagon but no cthulhu, i was kind of dissapointed when i found that out, but hey, you would be just shooting his skin cell for he soo big lol XD

  • @Freakinstien88 oh.. I'm gonna try this then, I've already saw the monster mom at the attic and i was pretty shocked at what happened.. this game is intriguing indeed... thanks for the reply!!!

  • @daggertail1000 Plz do, it CRAVES for us Reule In the open of the night, when the night is yough, my yough yougsoth, break youself thouth my young town of.........BLAST don't ya'll just love HP

  • @Freakinstien88 Once I hit the bookstores with my book money I'll horde'em if possible! about the game, my country has a few game shops and i think i'll end up "torrenting" this up..

  • @daggertail1000 Hahaha the monster at the attic, then bro, that just the begin!! XD PLEAZE play it XD

  • @Freakinstien88 as soon as I get my hands on resources to get this one buddy! :D

  • @daggertail1000 Yeah buddie! i bought a few H.P lovecraft collection novles, has his best works in one, id recommend somthing like that

  • Whats the password the safe? When take off the pistol.

  • To become a deep one, yo get raped by a deep one, crazy right?

  • in this game you get to see cthulu?

  • wow they really fucked up the hydra it's supposed to be a swamp filled with living heads of shit.

  • @spitfiremanlizerd its not the greek hydra, its Mother Hydra from Lovecraft...

  • @Klinginator bah i was thinking of The hydra one of henry Kuttners deities and an outer god. forgot about pussy mother hydra dagons consort. The greek hydra doesn't fit my discription at all...

  • 0:49. I think it was Duke Nukem who said "Hell, I'd still hit it!"

  • two things:

    1. when did Jack get the Wunderwaffe?

    2. *puts on duke nukem voice modifier and mask* hell, i'd still hit it!

  • saying this game in short makes it CoCKcofte

  • @horakoeri

I'm almost afraid to ask but... Where did you get the K?

  • @jackic ugh,dum bro of me said it wrong, had to be cocDcofte...doesn't sound as good as the other.

  • @jackic do u ever fight cthulhu

  • you did good nothing with 4 boobs deserves to plauge the earth >.> (though they would work well in breast feeding)

  • how the heck did you figure out that mind-control part????

    thats like...unreal!

although the game itself is kinda unreal aswell, BUT STILL!!!

i know you saw like a skull or something when you looked through dagons eyes, but srsly...

and if you want to make yourself deaf, just put a bullet in your ear(and i mean put, not shoot)

  • Why does Hydra have boobs even though she isn't a mammal?

  • fucking scary game....

  • nice video

  • ugly bitch(jot the game i mean hydra)

  • ugly b/tch.....

  • how do you run after you kill the boss?

  • Who´s more epic, Cthulhu of Chuck Norris? :D

  • that thing is huge omg how did u killed it !?!?!?!?!? good skills 5* :D

  • Lovecraft may have been an asshole all his life, but at least his works were great.

  • @lukegreen37 how does that work?

  • @Bilson1966 Him being an asshole was why his stories were so great; deeply cynical and all.

  • it won't open!

  • well a shrine to him does

  • Totally badass end fight

  • kinda lame that you don't actually fight her, though

  • @Antidrall It's still awesome.

  • It's HP Lovecraft so these are beast that you really can't fight conventionally.

  • who is Cthulhu?

  • Essentially.. hes a giant horrendos creature from before earth ever existed that sleeps in a city under the pacific. although its dead. but its not really dead becuase it'l come back one day when the stars are right.

  • i played it 2 years ago but now i am downloading it xD

  • cthulhu is not even in this game its rediculouse

  • Go on... Grab her boob. Any of them. I dare ya.

  • Damn it all!!!

Im trying to win this fight, and I do exactly as you show in this video. But for some damn reason, I cant hit the levers when I controll the deep ones! Yes I have started the water at the center statue, then I take controll of a deep one, then I jump up to any other statue and attack the lever, but there nothing happens.. Why??

  • This boss fight always kind of annoyed me.

Why is Hydra the last boss and not Dagon? After all, this is the Order of DAGON we're going up against here, so why does Dagon die halfway through the game and not Hydra?

  • I just wish Cthulhu appeared :/

  • hey, what did you use to capture this video? like what kind of capture card/ peripheral did you use? and i might as well ask, what program to capture the footage?

  • Dagon taped her fat ass? i feel sorry for him.

  • well, hes not human so perhaps he has diffrent tastes in whats sexy than we do

  • best comment ever

  • I played this game in the dark at 3;00 but i wasn't scared + this is a cool game ha ha ha ha lol

  • Ia Ia mother hydra!!!

    Ia Ia Cthulhu Fhtagn!!!

  • how Would you fight the Cthulhu? The Cthulhu is like.... taller than any human city and squashes men like they were mosquitoes.

  • nuke the bastard lol

  • haha, I thought that too, but it is the 1920s (or w/e). But I do think there is some charm to this game for actually motivating you to prevent the godly final boss from appearing. Becuz final bosses can be so predictable to a point of becoming cliche and disappointing. I think youre more interested in SEEing the Cthulhu since it's has such a reputation in the story.... if that makes sense.

  • @Nixel85 And that's besides the point too... Cthulhu would drive any man or woman insane upon his presence or even with the knowledge of his existence.

  • @Nixel85 thats not cthulhu that looks like an ugly ass fish person with 2 pairs of breast

  • @Nixel85 idk, ask wander from shadow of the colossus, i hear he does this kinda thing for a living.

  • Forgive me if I am wrong but isnt Cthulhu a God?

Unless you play, like, Godslayer or Superman, yew cant kill him.

There are tons of other monsters in the Call of Cthulhu universe you can battle.

  • He is not a god, he is a primordial alien. One of the strongest ones in that cathegory. And the problem is not the alien himself but his cult. He has the greatest amount of crazy worshippers of all those who share his cathegory. So he is considered kind of a God, but he is an alien.

  • Well, actually, he's sorta both. He has great magical powers and he's an alien, either way I wouldnt mess with him

  • No, he is not. In lovecraft's 'verse, there are no deities or supernatural things of any sort, just certain entities that lay outside of mankinds perception of physics. The closest thing to what we would call a god are the outer 'gods. Yog-sothoth and azathoth are their names

  • @avend666

plus, even if you were to kill him, he just gets PISSED!

    In the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying tabletop game, there are rules for what happens when you fire a nuke at Cthulhu;

You kill him, piss him off, he comes back, BUT NOW HE'S F*CKING RADIOACTIVE!

  • DCOTE is an awesome horror game for the Xbox. Too bad there was no sequel.

  • @GoodbyeSpy They were but then they cancelled it :(

  • The reason why Cthulhu is absent from this game is pretty much because this game is a retelling (a very loose and drawn out one) of The Shadow Over Innsmouth. Innsmouth is featured in a few H.P.L stories. Bethesda had actually planned to make 3 CoC games, all based on various pieces of the mythos, but the poor sales of Dark Corners of the Earth led the developement team to disband.

Shame really, woulda loved to see a game based on The Case of Charles Dexter Ward or The Dunwich Horror.

  • Amen to that sir since i read the mythos i m waiting so badly that some make a movie or game about The case of charles dexter ward its awsome

  • The horror would have been amazing... Hm... Maybe the colors from outer space, and the call of cthulhu, as the main plot.

  • All the enemy AI is really poor like on Morrowind (as since Bethesda created Morrowind aswell) they just keep runnin around u and away and then back again i dont get it still its an awesome game! COOL I DIDNT KNOW U CAN PLAY AS THE FISH MEN!!!

  • Dude, are you talking serious? can you play as a fish men? But how?

  • So, there's no heads up display in this game at all?

  • anh, i wish i could fight with cthulhu

  • Hydra and Dagon are mortal. Cthulhu would outlast death. The fight would take, 2 seconds.

  • where's cthulhu????, why is this thing the last boss??

  • You do not kill Cthulhu Cthulhu kills you.

  • @Zellig ok, i agree, but in the book, cthulu appears himself at the end... and here i only see statues of him...

  • That's a really lame boss fight.

  • I don't remember that monster in the story Call of Cthulhu or A Shadow Over Innsmoth.

    Wheres it from?

  • It's suppossed to be a female Dagon or something.

  • That is Dagons mate.

  • @jackic The Hydra. It's Dagon's consort.

  • Comment removed

  • That is Dagons mate but im not sure if her name is hydra.

  • It most certainitly is. they say so in the shadow over innsmouth

  • @magiczombie666

I don't think it's HPL's creation (it might still be, I haven't read everything yet), but I'm glad it's not. It's so annoying when at the end of a game the final boss fight is a creation of a legend like HPL. It's like "Who gives you the right..?"

  • interesting use of your mind slaves, when their purpse is done, ake sure they can't think ever again.....

  • The game is very scary early on, but eventually you get used to it. No Cthulu doesn't show up, he's still sawing logs in R'lyeh. Dagon, Hydra, and the Flying Polyps (good god those things were freaky) are the bosses.

Finally, can you post a video guide on the escape of the reef? I can't make it in time.

  • Is this game even scary?

Everyone says it is, but the monster and leveldesign looks pretty ordinary.

  • Dude do you actually see Cthulu on this game? 'Cus i'm not buying a frigging game that SAYS Cthulu on it if i cant fight Cthulu!

  • No one can fight Cthulhu, simply looking at him will make you go insane and/or suicidal. And that "I'll just look at him through a mirror" thing wouldn't work because you are still looking at him. Plus, he's big, BIGGG.

  • You wouldn't even have to look at him. If he ever fully woke up, every single person on the planet would go insane or die.

  • Sort of like the basilisk in Harry potter, If you look at it your screwed.

  • Did she drop any Epics?

  • damn

  • Lovecraft would have been proud

  • lovecraft was racist

  • ummmm....okayyyy

  • The whole story of Shadow over Innsmouth - upon which this game is based - is about Lovecraft's racial unease about miscegenation - the evil plot of the Deep Ones is to gain a foothold on land by interbreeding with human women.

  • i was referring to Lovecraft being proud of the game, which i think is very skillful in presenting the atmosphere of his stories. As for his being a racist, i've certainly never heard that before...i hope it isn't true!

  • He was indeed racist. In many of his stories he implies that blacks are intellectually inferior, more closely related to apes, etc. He casts them as uneducated, easily led or outright evil. Doesn't make the stories any less enjoyable for me though.

  • really? i've read many of his stories and i've never encountered any of that! well, its a sign of the times i guess

too bad someone as educated as Lovecraft should feel that way. You'd think he'd know better. oh well

  • It's pretty evident in a few of his stories. In "The rats in the walls", the main character's pet cat is named nigger-man, that kind of stuff.

  • well alot of writers from the time wrote like that...have you ever heard of "nigger of the narcissus", by Joseph Conrad? French poet Arthur Rimbaud also used the N-word in his "A season in hell", although he was a little before Lovecraft's time

  • What's the story where the guy discovers that white people descended from super smart white apes, and that his scientist father had discovered them and mated with one to produce the main character?

  • lol I've never heard of that story...but i can think of some people who've been inspired by it, and it doesn't lead to good things!

  • "Arthur Jermyn"

  • Its a shame he was racist but I never knew that till now. :(

  • it was just.. a different time lol

  • Yeah, he was a racist. I'm dark skinned and I don't care. I still love his works. I know he would never have associated with me if I was born in his era and I still respect him all the same.

  • thats very open of you, but yes really they are two different times..

if lovecraft were alive today thats not to say he would be a rascist.

  • when I played the game it didnt give me hints...I had to figure it out for myself...

  • can you play this on the 360?

  • Yes, it is backward compatible.

  • Btw. u got a really bad aim...

  • I was wondering. Why not shoot hydra directly?

  • She got an force field or sum shield around her.

  • Thanks.

  • Cthulhu is not in the game:(

  • Why do you keep shooting the gong point blank?

  • Shooting the gong makes you deaf for a while so you can concentrate on the enemy possesing spell instead of Hydra's chants, as stated in the video comments ay 1:03.

  • Oh, I get it now, that's why the room was twisting.

I was too busy looking at the gun, and at Hydra.

  • now is mother hydra one of those demigods or gods that started out as a cute little alliagatore baby pet then got too big and had to be flushed down the toilet and she eventualy made her way out to the ocean and in the meantime had gotten a huge following of weirdeys who wanted to have an excuse ot not have to go into the light of day with their computer paled complexion?

  • deep ones are millions of years old....so no

  • Wow... killing that thing seemed utterly pointless for some reason.

  • Mmm, you mean just like your comment?

  • Just thought I'd point it out. I mean, it didn't look like anything happened after you killed it.

  • Killing the thing triggers the ending escape sequence, otherwise, yes, it'd be pointless to kill it.

  • I c. See? That comment wasn't so pointless, whas it?

  • It's generating the forcefield which is obstructing the US Navy's submarines from torpedoing the underwater city of the Deep Ones. It has to be killed to open the way.

  • mmm looks like it's an awesome game. nice storyline. gotta check that asap. maybe even gotta read some lovercraft books before playing it. who knows =)

  • I would recommend it, I started reading some of his short stories after playing the game and I find them quite enyojable as they provide you with background stories of the characters and a better understanding of the Chtulhu mythos universe.

  • hahahhahahahaahahha

when i did it i just kept charging the gun up to let it go off at the cut scene

    thats why it kept freezing

    lol

    hey i was younger

    muhaahhahahahahahahhaj

  • You know what i hate most? Well, every boss (in all games) has it's own minions :) but in COC:DCOTE it's rare. Thank god for that.

  • dude
