I think this is qualifying in 2003 for Australia's 2004 Olympic Games a.k.a the redeem team. We won gold easily. We lost in the world championships in 02 because we sent the JV team, everyone freaked out. Then we sent the 02-03 & 03-04 leading scorer (Tracy McGrady) along with two other All NBA players (Jason Kidd and Tim Duncan)they killed everyone (see video). 10 of the 12 didn't go back because they routed everyone. They claimed to be injured, and didn't join the actual 2004 Olympic team.

Yep. They didn't go back because they proved their point, I know That's why T-mac went out for the team. KG won Gold in 2000 and didn't go back because saying "Let someone else have a turn." The 92 dream team said it was no fun blowing out teams by 50. Being put on the team USA is being told you're among the best in the NBA, now go represent our flag and sign autographs between games. Spain had 8 guys (3 refs) on the court and still lost by 11.
