In Japanese mythology, Amaterasu and Susano are brother and sister, so when he calls Amaterasu his brother that's kind of a nod to their mythological relationship. Amaterasu was born when Izanagi (a god) washed out his left eye, Tsukuyomi (moon god) was born when he washed his right eye, and Susano was born when Izanagi washed out his nose XD Maybe Chibiterasu was born like that. Mythology usually doesn't make that much sense but it can be really fun. ^^

The thing i love most about Okami and Okamiden is that they are both so close to the Japanese Shinto religion. It has made me very interested in the religion and it actually teaches you some of the gods and goddesses. The main one being Okami of course :P

I knew Ammy was a girl. Shiranui was a boy though in Okami. Ammy was his decendant. Because Shiranui died his spirit was in the statue and when Ammy was summoned a new incarnation was born. And that incarnation is Ammy. Wow, I made it a lot more complicated that it is.

So far, the "art direction" in this game is very good; it's almost as good as the "art direction" used in Okami, which also had great "art direction"

Amaterasu is not a wolf god... She's the goddess of the sun, in mythology her physical form is human. She took the form of a white wolf in this game (and in the myth the game tells).

By the way, the game's name Ōkami is written as 大神, meaning Great God, and not as 狼, meaning Wolf. (They have the same pronunciation, so it's obviously a pun.)

Amy probably created Chibi in her image to protect the land once she saw that the darkness was back. That doesn't necessarily constitute any form of sex involved... mythology is full of that stuff.
