Wow, thanks for the quick upload! I wasn't expecting you to make this video this early.
This is a very good game, and it's certainly interesting to compare the playing styles of today to the first Meijin. I replayed it with my board last night and I missed a lot of the good moves you pointed out (such as Ohashi's opening his bishop's diagonal). Thanks for the commentary.
Of course, for example 2 days with 9 hours per day and 60sec for every move after this time (I think Meijin title matches are something like this). The last move of the first day is sealed. This is really interesting :)
Time limits for go were unlimited until early 20th century in go. There is e.g. a famous game between go sei gen and honinbo shusai. Shusai did not play any move on one occasion. That was off course to discuss the move with his best students. Si I think unlimited time probably also for shogi . Btw Honinbo Sansa was first go professional.

By the way, in this video's description, you misspelled Soukei Ohashi's name as Souko.

nice video, but the variation you showed at 10:36 wouldn't work, since thaat pawn push is a check in the same time

Yes.
Thanks for pointing that out, abulac!

Hon-inbou attack was really fierce at the middle game, really interesting :)

first
wow gr8 game
its weird how back then in the begginings of shogi that you were able to spot a lot of mistakes which has been refined in modern shogi today.
out of curiousity
do people have timers when they play competition shogi or do they get as long as they want when playing?

Yes, that's exactly how the thinking time is for Meijin title match.
But how about the games in the 17th century? I have no idea. I think that's what MEEP012 is asking.

no no just normal modern day matches.
