  • what a beautiful guitar

  • nice playing but the singing wasnt too good :)

  • japanese metal guitar player <3

  • @IAufsMowlI chinese

  • Chinese, Japanese, Huttese, this guy can ROCK!

    {tips hat}

  • Lol, the singing :D

  • wow man awesome cover! kudos to u!!

abt the descrip, here is a guy who isnt afraid to say tht although he likes the songs, he surely knows kirk is not "the best" in the world. not like the other die hard kirkophiles who just blindly follow him! just know this guys... kirk wud b nowhere if mustaine hadnt given metallica the best dam debut album they cud possible dream of receiving!! always remember that!

  • \the second i saw that it was an asian guy i kept watching xD

  • is this a custom guitar? if so... where do u order these? i want a trustful site to order one from.....

  • @guruvag It's not a custom, just search for Jackson DK2M.

  • hey man, ive just started to watch your videos and you are really great

i have a question, which overdrive pedal is the best, boss sd1, zakk wylde sig mxr overdrive, or the ibanez ts9?

  • @butterknucklez Sorry for the delay in replying - in my opinion/experience the Zakk Wylde MXR has a meaner tone than the TS-9 (e.g. ZW-44 MXR gives more gain and pop on pinch harmonics) but the TS-9 has a slightly smoother sound. I like them both a lot. I have to say though, when picking OD pedals you need to really test them on your amp because they may respond differently to the settings you use.

  • @butterknucklez Also, if you're going to use these pedals on an already distorted tone, make sure you set the pedal gain to low and the volume to high because the other way around (gain = high, vol = low) sounds pretty bad, at least in my opinion =P Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • @deadnightshinobi thanks

and are both of them good volume boosters for leads?

  • @butterknucklez Umm I think it depends on if you run them between your guitar output at the amp input, or whether you put them in the amp's effect loop. Honestly though the Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster is the best "lead booster" pedal I've used.

  • YOU TOOK ME TO HEAVEN DOING THE SOLO

  • dude this is the best-looking guitar on earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @myrtia It is quite pretty, isn't it? haha. Sounds and plays nice too.

  • Children Of Bodom Hate Crew FTW

  • @funkymonkey0426 Cheers =)

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dude i got a 2ar E-15DR amp here and i wanna know how to achieve such a sound with my kelly jackson guitar can u suggest what level to put the bass, mid, tremble and reverb at? thanks in advance :|

  • @guruvag Not really familiar with that amp...the bass response on this Crate GTX120 is pretty high so I think I have the bass only at 1/4 or so of the max value (9 o' clock on the dial). Mids are at about 1 or 2 o' clock, treble at 12 o' clock. On the solo I have a delay rather than a reverb I think. But I think that's just a stock setting on my amplifier or I set it to tap tempo a really long time ago so I can't remember too much.

  • @deadnightshinobi thanks a lot bro this gotta help o_O

  • omfg dude children of bodom t-shirt & badass cover

    /bow

  • COBHC .... nice ;)

  • how you learn solo man?!

  • @SxLxIxPxKxNxOxT1 I used like a couple different tabs because I couldn't find that sounded 100% correct to me. Just practiced it a bunch. The biggest problem is memorizing the whole thing hahah. Thanks for watching!

  • @deadnightshinobi i feel bad for not saying your vid was good btw it is so what tabs you use i cant figure out the part on 3:19 of the vid thanx

  • eww your an ugly mother fucker

  • This deserves a sub

  • i totally didn't expect his voice to be that low

  • 1. what amp do you have 2. how do get your amp to sound like that i have a dean m10 amp

  • @RVDFAN364 Hey, I have a Crate GTX120, I think the model has been discontinued though. For the distortion I was using the lead channel and then I had a Tube Screamer running with the gain on low (pretty much zero) and and the level up high.

  • great cover man. Check out my cover of this song!

    please subscribe

    -dean

  • children of bodom hate crew hoodie oh yeah!

  • sweet cover

  • @mr. guitarrica. I know that mustaine wasn't playing on any Metallica album but while he wrote Riffs and Solos for kill em all he must had a few ideas that were used for Ride the Lightning. Just Watch Dave mustains Spider chord and you will know what i mean. sry for my bad english grammer, its not my native language

  • Perfect Man!

  • dude thts a wikid sweater man!!!

  • fucking amazing

  • Hey, man, you rock!!! Very nice performance ;)

  • love this song.. great cover!

  • are you playing with a pedal or is it distortion out of the amp btw awesome cover, keep it up

  • @jesusvalles54 Mainly amp distortion but I think I was running an overdrive pedal with the gain very low and the level high, it helps tighten up the sound a lot. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • nice work at guitar but not so much at singing hahahha but nice playing ;)

  • You are very nice :)

I liked it. Its the best cover :D

  • Nice one!

  • awesome guitar

    cool playing \m/

  • Long live METALLICA!!!!!

  • Same here with the fade to black song it helped out alot when it came to learning how to go down the scale

  • Oh cool ill check that one out. And

  • See this is what i love to see ppl that share the same taste in good music not that rap shit but any who what amp you playin?? Is that a 100w marshall?? If so i need to get one real badly the sound verbing off that jackson is sick and the playing style you have if swift i need a band to play for. Anyone in need of a lead guitarist!? Lol im fucking awesome just need to practice alil more. Good cover man and you aint the only one celebrating 25 years lol im right behind you!!

  • I used to have a 100 W Marshall MG combo but this is actually a Crate GTX120...has a pretty decent sound and volume for a solid state amp but the MG had a slightly more rich/organic tone.

  • What Guitar is that? I know its a Jackson, but what kind is it?

  • @themotocrossman83 I think it's a DK2M.

  • What Guitar is that? I know its a Jackson, but what kind is it?

  • @thatboimanny i love rap and hate this,,,,,jkjk......smoke weed?

  • yo dude your awesome at guitar wish i was as good as u ^^ anyhow, i wanted to ask u a quick question at 1:52 that squealie(pitch harmonic) you pull off is that in the original studio version? or, did u add that in? and if so i was thinking about covering abunch of metallica and megadeth songs and incorporating zakk wylde squealies into the songs i think it would put a nice spin on things....btw keep playing man ur lightning fast~!~!~!~!~! PEACE~

  • Umm I'm actually not sure....it might've been in the original but just not as obvious sounding? Yeah, nothing wrong with adding the pinches =)

  • Bambee plays awesome! <3

  • The smug grin is hilarious.

And the singin is even funnier.

    But well played.

    5*

  • Haha, cheers =)

  • Awesome job. I really want to learn this song. How difficult would it be to learn on a scale of 1-10 (10 being very hard)?

  • Maybe 6? The solo is a little tricky but you just have to break it down into separate parts and work slowly. I guess it would depend on how long you've been playing for. Have fun with it, looking forward to seeing your cover. =)

  • I've been playing for almost three years if that means anything. The solos sound very much like the kind that I'm used, and the fingering doesn't look to hard for solos. The rthyem probably gonna be the hardest part for me.

  • @ Theblackhell1

the solo isn't really hard... I've been playing for just over 3 years and I have the whole song, solos included, mastered;) it's just all about practice, I played the song almost non-stop for 2 days to master it:)

  • thats a SWEET guitar

    is it a dinky?

  • Ummm DK2M I think? I don't really know much about Jackson's different models, I just wanted this because it had a maple fretboard and some Seymour Duncan humbuckers =P

  • do you learn by tab or ear? i'm gonna ditch tabs and never bother with them again except for mind fucks of solos

  • If I'm learning other people's songs, sad to say, I use tabs 99% of the time. Maybe use my own ear if some things don't sound quite "right". haha. It's the lazier way, I know, but maybe one day I'll get better.

  • Personally I dont think it matters your a shit hot guitarist and alot better than me. I just cant help but think i could benefit greatly from doing it, especially being able to get the rymthm right by ear aswell, and i get to learn the theory from doing so i.e. keys etc although im still in the process of learning all of rammsteins material by ear as a starting point. (I recommend it to anyone it's insanely fun xD) next in line is aerosmith

  • asombroso men

    sigue asii

  • @ Darkflame actually Jackson = Randy Rhoads

and also 25th anniversary and nothing to say about Cliff? :( btw great work

  • awsome solo!!! WTF

  • Awesome video dude you're a hell of a guitar player. I love that Jackson btw, I got a dinky :)

  • wid eh been better if ya kept ur toungue in ur heed neebour tth pit m,eh right aff u suck

  • @lawdy83

i can't even read that, learn how to spell better before you come on here,

  • This solo was created by Dave Mustaine

    That means hes really AWESOME

    But ill always prefer Hammett

  • @LightningRiderMGO well it was originally, but hemmet changed a lot of it... I wonder what it used to sound like

  • @ixcaliber Hammett** sorry

  • @LightningRiderMGO dude mustaine composed d whole song.. riffs.. whole of kill em all, ride the lightening and some black album stuff too before he quit...

  • @rankit2 what the fuck are you saying?, Dave Mustaine created WITH James Hetfield and Cliff the songs Call of Ktulu and Ride The Lighting from the Ride the lighting album, the other ones where created by Kirk Hammett, WITH James Hetfield he created Kill Em All, and the only thing Dave's has in comun with The Black Album, is that the kid praying at the song Enter Sandman was Dave and James's idea while they were together in Metallica

  • @LightningRiderMGO No man the solo was created by Kirk, Dave created the riff after the solo!

  • @LightningRiderMGO But Kirk took the first 4 bars of the solo and the rest of solo is Kirk's cuz he didn't want to do Mustaines stuff :P

  • @live4Metallica1 Kirk Hammett never made anything OF Ride the lightning or Call of ktulu, i know that riff you are saying, the spider chord, that was not the only thing Dave made in that song, also Dave mustaine and Kirk were different chapters, Dave left the band not because of Kirk, but because of Lars and James, the complete song was made by Dave and the other ones by Kirk, that's why Ride the lighting was released in 1984 and Dave left the band in 1983

  • @LightningRiderMGO I know why Dave left, but when Kirk came in 1983 he sort of "modified" some songs from Kill Em and Ride

  • @live4Metallica1 ohh yea bro, obviously lol, i don't think of KEA, becuae the album was already out, but in RTL the only think dave did was those 2 songs and not on the original version, Dave made the demo of those songs, Kirk putted the final touch so the album could be out, it took part of the 83 and the 84, so that's why the album's release date is from 1983-1984

  • @LightningRiderMGO yeah now we agree xD

  • @live4Metallica1 every Metallica fan MUST and SHOULD agree with other Metallica fan! lol :P

  • @LightningRiderMGO AMEN to that! :P

  • @LightningRiderMGO It wasn't created by Mustaine you dumbass. Everything in this record is all from Kirk. =D

And don't post pissed of response comments because I know because I've read the book of METALLICA. =D Mustaine didn't even play on the Kill 'Em All album James fired before recording the final version of the album.

  • @MrGuitarrica nah you are wrong, but i ain't gonna waste my time anymore

  • really nice man... good job

  • wow!! not the voice i was expecting...no offence lol

awesome track, sick cover, i'm subscribing right now! lol

  • Jackson= Adrian smith :D

  • RTL's solo is Metallica's most difficult but also their greatest one, it really stands out from their other ones...

  • wow lol that song hahaha its the best cover ever see of this song hahahaha

  • Do better?

  • u dumbass this isnt supposed to be a vocal cover some ppl like to have fun while playing

  • you ever thought of covering a x japan song?

    0|\/|6 D00D |_| R D4 R0XX0R G0D

  • how do you get the real heavy sound?

  • ...distortion. o__O;;

  • I solved that problem easily... buy a Marshall XD

  • awesome job!! wish i could play like that. keep it up man!

  • dude I don't know if you used the tabs or w/e but I play the exact same version but you do it way better than me...back when I had my KH-2 autographed (I sold it money issues :S) I used to do the solo till the impossible part at the end...anyways good job I love your Jackson and I'd like to have you to do a Hit The Lights and/or Jump In The Fire Cover if it's possible :p

  • A+ on the the solo perfect

  • damn right metallica stood the test of time

you would expect the greatest in band existence to do so!!

  • Awesome cover man! Im learning this song at the moment and its extremely fun to play! Plus I have that same guitar but in white!

  • don't you have a hammett signatue? i meant that guitar is better in my opinion, i was even planning on getting it but, wouldn't the kh be more appropriate?

  • The Jackson is the only guitar I have tuned to standard, that's the main reason why I used it =P It's actually a really good guitar, definitely comparable to the KH performance wise and was a couple hundred bucks cheaper as well...haha.

Oh, and nice cover of the Holy Wars acoustic solo btw. I'll look forward to seeing more of your vids. =)
