Oh, sure they have "reasons" but I hardly think that stoning someone for adultery is a valid reason to commit murder. They also condone public floggings for a number of "offenses" like fornication. The reasons are ridiculous.
And yes, the Quran does encourage mistreatment of non-believers because it says they aren't going to heaven anyway so there is no reason to be nice to them.

Have you actually READ the Quran? The subjugation of women might be a holdover from previous tribal societies, but it has been codified and sanctified in the Quran as holy edict. It may not have been BORN of Islam, but it certainly found a home there.
Islam does have brief moments when it appreciates mothers, but in general, it sees women as stupid, unworthy of respect, evil, dirty and the path to hell for men.

I'll also say that being how I am blessed to live in Canada we are able to freely and openly question and teach this, which is what we do. I'm amazed by these comments. The woman in the video is not even - nor was she ever - Muslim.
In addition to that, I feel as though I should direct your attention the the idea of women from a Jewish & Christian perspective.
If you will, take a look at the Christian belief of the inherited sin. "Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity & in sin my mother conceived me." (Psalm 51:5)
