  • hi could u tell me how to bluetooth pics from the lg scoop to another phone thanks

  • ayo . . . . i did this nd now when i unplug my fone from the cpu i cnt see the ringtone ! NONE OF THEM ! but all of them are showing up on bitpim ! WHAT GOING ON ?

  • @CARTERHASSWAGG you arent turning off bitpim first and then unplugging the phone.

  • can you do this over bluetooth

  • can you change the startup images (after the startup bar)? to my own gif file?

  • works for lg incite . ?

  • Bitpim says that it doesnt recognize my phone.. what do i do?

  • The driver doesn't work.

When I tried to install, it said my operating system doesn't supposed USB Modem Drivers, and that I needed to upgrade to Windows 98 or higher.

    I have Windows Vista? Help?

  • Have you tried running it under XP compatability mode? (Right click, properties)

  • No, I didn't.

I got it to work somehow though.

    Thanks :]

  • i dont see that

  • So deleting the .dat file wont hurt the phone correct? I am going to do it on a friends phone and I want to make sure and after you delete the file can you apply bluetoothed ringtones?

  • whats the lg scoop phone type?

  • When I try deleting lg_mysound, it says "Access to the file/directory has been blocked on this phone by the phone provider"...??

  • Never mind. Rebooted the phone and all is well. thank you :)

  • glad to hear. occasionally, you can also get that error fixed by going to the hidden menu settings (at main menu hit 0 and then the key is all 0's) and enabling the serial DIAG thing there too.

  • can u use bluetooth

  • not unless your phone has the BTDIAG mode in the diagnostic menu.

  • Alright, I figured it out, before unhooking the phone you need to make sure you close the pc connection (I also open it so bitpim reconizes my phone as well) on the phone before unhooking it otherwise it won't save, or, that's how it worked for me.

  • Did the tutorial and restarted and what-not, but when i restarted the phone, checked audio's for ringtones and still nothing. Suggestions? I had to get a replacement phone recently, you think it may be possible that newer phones got locked up even moreso?

  • "On Com Port, click 'Browse>select 'LG Mobile USB Serial Port'"

this doesnt appear after i select 'Other CDMA Phone'

what should my pc connection be on?

  • Comment removed

  • "14. Restart your phone."

  • Top notch, thanks!

The LG Scoop is now perfect in my eyes.

  • no problem, glad to be of help :)

  • it didn't work for me :(

  • IMPORTANT:

in order for bitpim to detect your LG Scoop, you must

    go to 'Edit>Settings'

change phone type to 'Other CDMA phone'

On Com Port, click 'Browse>select 'LG Mobile USB Serial Port'

    Once done, click 'Edit>Detect Phone'

Then Follow the instructions on the Side of the Video. Hope this helps all of you =]

  • added note of this now.

  • i have a sony ericsson does it work on bitpim

  • I got my LG Rumor to connect and I got BitPim to find it, but I can't find the "dload" file. It isn't there. Suggestions?

  • i downloaded the driver that you had do i have to put the driver somewhere or what? i am NOT A COMPUTER PERSON and have no idea what to do... help?

  • have you figured out what format to put wallpapers in? cuz i know the brew/media/mp folder is the folder, but it only reads jpgs. I want to put an animated wallpaper in there but the only format for animated wallpapers are .gif.

  • how come when i the file system and when i click the "/" folder and theres nothing in it.? plz help me.

  • BitPim wont work with my computer...

  • My Phone isnt detected if you can send me a pm helping me out that would be greatly appreciated

  • can't detect phone. but my pc says there is a phone...what to do?? ive been looking all over!

  • do you have a micro sd card in? i had to remove my sd card before it recognized my phone.

  • Yes i do have one but i remove it and it still can't detect it.

  • I think its my usb for my phone. it only has some of the connectors inside it so maybe it doesn't have the ones it needs for the phone. i bought my usb cord on amazon not the official music one from alltel.

  • i have same problem no phone detected

  • i clck find phone and it says no phone detected/recognized help please

  • nvm i figured it out

  • lol i accidentally deleted my video file is there any way i can get it back?

  • so, do you have to buy the cord to connect the phone to the computer separately?

  • yes. the phone does not come with the usb cable you need to connect it to the computer.

  • where do you buy it? what is it called? thanks by the way for the info!

  • Thanks very much. I was going to be upset if I could not get custom ringtones on my Scoop, and thanks to your video, I have them. Thanks again.

  • glad to hear :)

  • Do you have to have a memory card in the phone to make it work cuz that's what the guy told me when I called LG.

  • no. and if possible, please try to keep responses in a single comment thread if they are still concerning the first issue.

  • I've downloaded the driver for it a couple of times but it still won't detect the phone when i pulg it in.

  • dunno other than to just make sure all the data settings are set to usb on the phone. this includes setting PC Connection in settings to USB Modem, going into the service mode (go to main menu then press 0, then enter all 0's) and setting both of the Data settings under there to usb. if still no good, can't help.

  • I hooked my phone up to my computer but my compter doesn't seem to find the phone. It doesn't say it found new hardware or make a noise or anything...any idea why?

  • google around and find the LG AX260 drivers. i think howardforums had them.

  • hey thanks man!

  • hey it is saying that it wont let me delete the lg_mysound.dat because the directory is blocked by my phone provider. how do i get past the block?

  • it does the usb connection isn't working right. try going into the menu, pressing 0, entering al 0's there, then under Data(DIAG), change that to something else, then back to USB.

  • how do i add videos

  • Hey man, me again. Do you know how to add M3U playlist files to the scoop and get them to work? I add the mp3 files to MY MUSIC folder and the M3U file to go with the mp3s in the main folder containing the others. Thanks

  • no idea to be honest. I don't use playlists but once they are on the phone, I'd assume there's something on the phone to make playlists from the mp3s. If not, I know a scoop driver for bitpim is being worked on (as opposed to other cdma) which will allow creating/manipulating playlists.

  • Awsome! Finally got past alltels gay custom ringtone block

  • This works perfectly. Just remember to power off your phone then turn it back on for the sound files to show up on your phone!

  • Step 14. ;)

  • I cannot get my Scoop to work it say cannot find phone what is the PC connection suppose to be set to on the phone?

  • USB Modem and you may need to press menu at the homescreen and when the icons come up, hit 0. Then for the service code, all 0's. Then make both of those data options be USB and you can try again. (Should be trying to find "Other CDMA" on the port of your phone in BitPim's settings)

  • Hey Dustin! Will I be able to use the ringtone? I add music to my Alltel LG Scoop by bluetooth, and I am not able to use them as ringtones. Will this method bypass my problem? Thanks.

  • Yes, bluetooth copies them to a different location. This will fix it so they can be used as ringtones.

  • how do you make your phone able to use bluetooth songs as ringtones?

  • "Note for users attempting to use bluetooth copied audio files: When you copy audio files over bluetooth, these are put in /brew/media/ms (assuming you do not have a microSD card in). In order for them to be seen as ringtones, they need to be moved into the /bre/media/lk/ms folder as shown in the video. Make sure you have deleted the lg_mysound.dat file as stated above as well."

Added to description. Unfortunately, you still need a USB cable and move them to the correct location.
