  • GREAT !

Welcome on the Maschseefest 2011 in Hannover-Germany.

  • technically not ragtime. Ragtime is piano, and hardly ever incorporates horns. This is literaly Dixieland music. Lol it's pretty damn similar though. And this is great

  • @iCharleyStudios The title of this song is : Alexander's Ragtime Band. A big hit from 1911, with composer credits for Irving Berlin. It invites you to go to a party, where a great ragtime band is playing. Indeed it is not in ragtime form, as it is a verse - refrain song. Early Jazz (name it Dixieland, New Orleans whatever you want) has strong roots in Ragtime, esp. the multi strain songs, like the great Jelly Roll Morton and King Oliver records. Maybe early jazz is a mix of blues and ragtime.

  • @ABrandsma Ahh i see. I thought the song was Dixieland Crackerjacks. Now i know that's the band. hah

  • TODAS AS MUSICAS FANTÁSTICAS....

  • Brill!!!! Wish there was more of this being played!

    Kind regards,

    Bert Brandsma

  • Fine job by excellent , and fun, musicians......

  • Hey, I'm currently doing this song for a chamber piece with my brass trio. great reference. thanks, guys.

  • Some Dixieland lovers consider the very best Dixieland band to have been Turk Murphy, and the very best of his recordings to have been the late 1950's LP recording "Dancing Music," which fairly recently was re-released on a compilation-CD called "New Orleans Stomp."

  • Very enjoyable! TY James
