I have a captivate it is a pretty good phone like he said but a lot of times my screen goes blank out of nowhere while i am using it or it frezes and then i have to shut it down and the apps and games are pretty bad on the android market unless u have like $8 to spend on one game.

OK everyone is saying the captivate has a worse battery than the iphone 4. well, that's not true. How i know that is you are talking to a person who has had both. the only reason the captivate doesnt last long is because everyone always has thier screen brightness settings so damn bright. If you want the best of your captivate, turn the brightness. It's not gonna kill you. will it

@OfficalChancer You're right, the Samsung Infuse is extremely oversized. That's why I decided not to get it a month ago. So I got the Captivate instead. And then I downloaded Go Launcher with it a week ago. It's fantastic!
When I flip my captivate horizontal it doesn't automatically go into the disc view; instead I have to hit menu and then disc view. Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated

Smartphone Screen Cleaning Tip: Ok, does anyone here think their smartphone screen is dirty and covered in fingerprints. well there is only one thing you need to do in order to keep your screen looking clean.
Step 1: Get a soft and dry cloth.
Step 2: Dampen the cloth.
Step 3: Gently wring out the cloth.
Step 4: Wipe your screen off gently and carefully.
Step 5: Dry your screen of any other water patches to prevent damaging water spots to your screen.
All around the captivate is better because the android system is better then the pos iPhone but u can't compare it with the iPhone 4 cuz it has a flash and a front cam but if u want compare the iPhone 4 with the evo or epic which have a flash and a front facing cam the I phone loses every time any one who buys iPhone over android is gay
@bmike820 do you know what jailbreaking is you can completely bend your firmware on your iphone you can do anything if you jailbreak jailbreaking adds in a file that removes the restriction to download third party applications... so you can download anything that apple disapproves. yes android is better if the iphone isnt jailbroken, but if it is it's far ahead:) with dualboot (boot lace and open iboot)
you can reboot into android software!! android gingerbread 2.2 to be exact:)

I dont recomend the captivate. It freezes up often and it can be really jerky. Also when I turn it on it take about 5 minutes before i can start using it. For my birthday i am definatly switching to the iphone 4!

i think i am going to be getting the captivate very soon (as in tomorrow) as a first smart phone. From everything i am researching about this phone it is easy to tell that if you want a more customization abled phone then you would want to go with a android base setting. Thus i love the ability to make changes to keep it interesting. Iphone 4 would be a way better phone if you have a less technology savvy person.

The samsung does lag a fair bit though, after having it for a few weeks. Still prefer over iphone however.

Im getting a captivate but my sis has an iphone 4 and she lets me use it all the time so I cant really choose which is better because the iphone4 is really awesome but I like the captivate cuz the screen is bigger. But there both REALLY great phones.

But the thing is with the samsung captive is that theres much to it than the iphone
You could also jailbreak the samsung captive but dont really have to considering the fact that most of all the apps are free
So i must say that i take my side with the samsung
I have an iphone but sold it cause of the samsung captive

Tbh. I have the Captivate. I LOVE it. My brother has the Iphone, I LOVE it too haha I honestly don't see wtf these people are talking about. I told him to get the Iphone just so I could compare them. I don't see how you could say one's far better than the other.

The video is biased, but I love my Captivate. I will never touch Apple with a ten foot pole. I have been impressed with Samsung's quality as I have owned their Eternity cell phone and three of their MP3 players. All work great and are better quality than Apple. Android and not iAnything for life!

yeah that is really ridiculous case Crapple sued Samsung due to its design concept. in fact, Samsung and LG released much nicer mobile design before I phone started in July 2007. Just search Samsung F700series and LG Prada Series early mobile design. and compare Crapple iphone 3. can you see the similar design concepts? that bloody English Iphone designer stole those early designs from others pretending to be a creative hahhahhah dame thief Crapple you are the original copycat indeed!

iphone is for adolscent people who want to listen to music and play games if you want a real phone get the captivate the power will blow the iphone out of the water ive actually have had ppl with i phones trying to get me to put a custom android rom on there device. ppl dont waste your money on a device that cant do nothing. I find that the samsung captivate micro sd card and the 16gb of storage makes the samsung captivate a better choice alos the samsung captivate is free when you upgrade at target lol

i think i am going to be getting the captivate very soon (as in tomorrow) as a first smart phone. From everything i am researching about this phone it is easy to tell that if you want a more customization abled phone then you would want to go with a android base setting. Thus i love the ability to make changes to keep it interesting. Iphone 4 would be a way better phone if you have a less technology savvy person.

Nice presentation.
I want to upgrade my 6 yo nokia 3220b. I've never changed the battery and I only need to recharge it about once a week.
These two are supposed to be on the top of the line but I was kind of shocked hearing the comparaison of 1day vs 1day 1/2.

I like the iPhone because video chat is a nice option, but I use my phone for a ton of music and movies, so the MicroSD slot makes the Captivate the winner for me.

I'm sort of pissed at phone companies. Sure there are places where the Captivate outdoes Apple, but there is a reason. These other companies simply see where Apple went wrong, and work on improving that. Analogy; imagine hiking through a dense, thick, untraveled forest (technological innovation). Now imagine hiking through there after a steamroller (Apple) has passed through it. The path more traveled is the easier path, right?

@spilknoob Original doesn't mean it's best though. There are many examples of hardware and software manufacturers who originally created something and was quickly surpassed by another company. If what I have read is true, these two phones (hardware) are actually made in the same factory by the same people (not sure which way round though) and Android are quickly out rating iphones os. The samsung does lag a fair bit though, after having it for a few weeks. Still prefer over iphone however.

This review has its flaws.
The guy says he can tell a 29fps video recording vs 30fps video recording, which is quite funny cause in the video the iphone4 was the one lagging.
He also says many contradicting comments about camera quality & direct comparison of the pics ONSCREEN. i4's pics designed to look good on its own display. How about easily removable/replaceable sim/sd/battery/ and transfer of files using micro usb on ANY computer with out the use of ITUNES & a huge price difference.
