Well Bose was a GREAT leader, Grandmaster, who had his own vision for India. I think you're right on that. Gandhi was uncomfortable enough by Bose to support his opponent in the Congress elections...so Bose formed a new party called the Forward Bloc, which still exists today.
But the fact remains that we will never know what he would have done. he certainly is one of the great "What-Ifs" in Indian history...

Every religion has incorporations from another. It's not that they choose to but at the times other religions that are around obviously have some impact. Look at Islam and Christianity do they not share similarities with Judaism? Sikhism holds all religions in high esteem and beleves you should adhere to the faith you were born into. We have a lot of contrary views to HIndus and Muslims, such as sacrificing animals, fasting, rituals, women not being able to lead prayers, etc.

Well..I think it's more than that. The Sikhs share not only the same religion,. but the same culture, and the same language, correct me if I'm wrong Khalsa...
So for thenm to ask for autonomy status is not altogether farfetched. I don't think the majority of the Sikh community are pushing for outright indpendence.
Remember that India was declared officially as a secular nation, NOT a Hindu nation. There is no official Hindu country right now.

sikhs want to live in india as equals, if that isn't possible then we want an autonomous state in india, if that isn't possible, then a separate homeland, know wht i mean? all we want is to be treated fairly and our religion to be left alone, bjp congress etc all want to corrupt and wit the help of rss etc are corrupting our religion to make it seem like a part of hinduism, we have no hatred against hindu's, we dont appreciate attacks on our religion though by rss n govt, thats our enemy thx :)

Nanak was born into Hindu faith but he dosent become hindu by that meaning..

gandhi and nehru were liars. they told the sikhs that if we went with them and stayed in india, we would be given special consideration and that we would have autonomy to rule our own selves in the new nation of india. what happened after everything was done and the sikhs asked them to uphold their promises? they said "ab waqt badal gaya hai", time has changed now, and they used that to explain why they weren't keeping the promises they made to the sikhs. the biggest loser in history was gandhi.
