I admit at first I didn't think it was him, but then I turned it up and REALLY listened, and you can tell it's him. For all the people saying it isn't him.
Wow, thanks to the person who recorded and put this up on Youtube! Was this planned before, or was it a spontaneous phone call? What luck that the person captured a perfect segment.
I really like how Colbert slips in and out of character, it's awesome.
@H1TMANactual I agree! All these guys can do is make a mockery of what they are too stupid to understand. Neither one of them can even conduct a serious interview. How can they be expected to talk with world leaders. Even if they are smart enough to do it, they don't have any respect or discretion.
The man's nothing short of a genius. He slips in and out of this Colbert Report character seamlessly. One second, he's criticizing the Democratic party and the next he's telling the radio hosts that he enjoys mocking them. No other actor could get away with that.
Not only is the man impossible to imitate, if it wasn't really Colbert, they wouldn't have made the same jokes he always makes, and tried to do something different.
Yeah it was really stupid to not like Colbert run. It would have made the this process so, so much more entertaining. I actually didn't know you *could* legally reject someone that has met all the requirements.
now all we have to look forward to is the "Hillary/Obama" conflict. yawn.
Haha thats what he said on the factor to wind cockhead O'Reilly up. He was born in the states and his family has an Irish background like many US politicians I imagine.
Actually i fact checked back then and wiki said france now it says washington d.c.. So yeah you're wrong about south carolina. No, i didn't go by what o'reilly said so stop making bullshit assumptions it only makes you look like a tool. You wanna blame someone then blame wikipedia. As time goes by i use it less and less but for stupid stuff like this why not?
I've heard Stephen Colbert say several times that he's born in South Carolina, and considering that he often encourages his fans to change facts on wikipedia, I don't think that's a valid source of information.
Agreed, this doesn't sound like Colbert. It sounds like someone that is impersonating him. And why is this fella here getting thumb downs? Thats stupid.
Oh, THAT'S the guy who isn't Steve Doocy? Awesome! I love that Stephen even called him that in the conversation!
I think it was definitely Stephen--it sounded like him, and he talked about why he didn't want his kids to watch his show the same way he has in other interviews.
I wish people wouldn't label Stephen as the great lefty". He's not so much a political figure as much as just a comedian who exhibits intelligence. It doesn't take much to realize how much of a disaster the current administration has been. Colbert is an american hero for giving us idealism in troubled times, that's all.
I totally agree with you. I was just applying some gentle ribbing to johnnydollar because, being a Republican, he would never want to be accused of supporting one who leans to the left.
So I was just trying to stick it to ol' johnnydollar, who I'm sure is a great guy, but who probably doesn't have the Maher or Stewart clips I requested.

I don't think that that's Stephen Colbert's voice, he tried not to do anything that could get him in trouble and if anybody can get me proof that that is actually him, i would like to see it
I don't see why what this person has said is out of line. I want to believe with all my heart that this is indeed Steve (so much that it's one of my favorite vids), but i'd like to be absolutely sure, too.
CNN is even saying that Obama's people in SC pressured the Democratic Party officials down there to keep Stephen off of the ballot. Even though he said he didn't want to win, he should still be able to be on the ballot because he fulfilled the requirements for it! Appealing would be a waste of time though. I doubt they would change their minds about it especially since they are getting threats of violence against them and such.
He wasn't running as a republican anymore because they charge a ridiculous 35 thousand dollar filing fee...which also should be illegal. It's just another way of putting up unnecessary barriers to running. Besides, I don't think there's any election law that keeps a person from being on both tickets.
dude...you REALLY think Colbert is a republican? He's as liberal as they get. Come on...don't tell me you don't know it's an act? lol Ever heard of sarcasm and irony? Why do you think he was polling ahead of so-called "real" democratic candidates but dead last in Republican polls.
He is not as Liberal as it gets, he's comedy is based on a right wing sarcasm because it is easer to create comedy from that angle. Left wing is so diverse it is hard to create status sift to make jokes from.
If his Colbert character was Liberal it just wouldn't be as funny as Liberals tend to be boring.
This is so stupid! If you want to get the contact info for the SC Democrats who voted against letting the people of SC vote for Colbert you can find it at colbert08. us -- if you are upset, let them know how you feel!
I Still going to vote for Stephen Colbert for President. He makes more sense than all those funnies that are running. Republican or Democrats, they are all jokers
stephen is so hilarious, in character or not. that is so messed up that they won't let him run. well, at least by doing this, he pointed out how ridiculous this entire election process is.
Stephen needs to appeal this!!! I wouldn't vote for him, but they have no right to keep him from running. Any American can run for president, this is illegal
Stewart and Colbert are geniuses I agree, but let them run for an elected local position...not president.
