  • Absolutely awesome. Even if you didn't get the end riff completely right, it still sounded soulful.

  • jammin son

  • Bro, you are the one man I know who could come close to covering P-nut at a 311 concert (besides Flea)

  • very dope. very clean.

  • thats tight man

  • oh yeah, nice.

  • Not a bad job at all. This is one of my favorite songs to play, though it really helps to have a 5-string for this. If you cleaned it up a tad, this would sound pretty slick, especially on your rig.

  • not bad dude. beat that thing

  • Very well done. Not easy song to play. I <3 pnut.

  • sooo sick, mad funk, nice playin

  • That sounds so siiiick!!! Congrats keep banging on that bass!

  • Completely sick.

  • yo prob the funkiest player that isnt pro on bass keep that head swaggin kid

  • bro you pro

    nod yo head to that

  • awesome

  • can you tab this for me?

  • You're playing it wrong but it still sounds great....good job~

  • Wow. Just Wow!

What about The Who? Can you play them or have you been denied there too?

  • Generally, I have been denied, but I did do a remake of boris the spider you might like.

  • I watched it. It was beyond phenomenal.

  • YEAAAH that was sick! 311 rocks and so do you man!

  • that guy sounds just like SA

  • Fuckin A

  • Awesome Job man! That's Incredible!

  • rock on dude ha hell yeah

  • This is MasterFunk311. I changed my account again and i changed my mind about you. You rock!

  • LOL.

  • 0:48 ok i cant hear anymore...why you posting this sloppyness? why? do you think your bass sounds good? Tone? where's those beer cans in the shot...cause your out of it

  • Well, you can file this heckle under the "fail" category. You are the stalker who comes here fairly regularly to stir shit. I know you because you are the only prick who focuses only on 311...most normal hecklers hit different bands. You created this account today just to comment on these two videos. It is your only activity... and it is because I blocked your ass before. You cannot manufacture consensus by creating more accounts, stalker-boy. It just makes you look pathetic.

  • reminds me of RHCP back in the day. I love 311, and you too man! rock out!

  • i can smell the funk from over here in california. nice work!

  • Great slapping! I suckk at slapping!

  • nice, man. i gotta learn this song. it looks like a blast to play

  • Heh... those first few slaps always sneak up on me too. And I don't even play bass. :P

Also, from "P-Nut, change it up, watch out for your mind, watch out" to when the guitar comes in, does the riff change just a little? I always thought it did...

  • hell yes

  • man you killed it... you are awesome... have u ever met p-nut?

  • Thanks, and heck no, I've never really met any famous bass players. P-Nut would be a good one to meet, though.

  • dude. pnuts shit is a blast to play. it really reminds me of fleas old shit. thanks for posting this great vid.

  • man that was great. I like how you have your own style when it comes to playing 311 songs. Creativity is what its all about.

  • That is sweeeeeet. I only ever learned the solo, should learn the whole thing really. 5/5.

  • P-NUT CHANGE IT UP WATCH OUT FOR YOUR MIND WATCH OUT

you certainly have just blown my mind my friend, blown indeed

  • pretty sure the lyrics are...'one time from ya mind...watch out.'

  • i thought it was pnut change it up. one time from your mind, would ya

  • DAMN You rock man.

  • Man, man, man. This was some awesome schtuff. Sometimes I watch a video and it just lifts me up a bit. And that one did. Thanks man. That effin' rocks. I'll watch it a lot, heh.

  • Awesome

  • That was awesome. Rockin out like no other!

  • looks pretty f'n sweet to me

  • much respect.

  • MY GOD, U F'IN ROCK DUDE.

  • Holy f... You like 311, too?! Man, our tastes, they be as mirrors! Lovin' this rendition, I often fail to appreciate how nice P-nut's playing is being distracted as I am by Mahoney's always inventive riffs. And you energy while playing is great to watch, despite what the bassischtapo say. I'll be watching you from now on.

  • Too cool dude, you really fucked up my brain with awesome!

It'll be a sad day when the LRRG Leader stops.

  • Thanks a lot...this tune tickles my funky bone something serious and I am glad you appreciate it like I do.

    \m/ rock on!! \m/

...and the LRRG's have a leader? If so, please don't let it be me...let it be Pook. I'm happy just being the coiner of the phrase.

  • a bass beast indeed.

  • Nice jams dude, I posted a guitar reply tell me what you think. Peace man!

  • you are a bass BEAST dude

  • Good to see your still kicking ass

  • Shit, you werent kiddin when you sed P-Nut was one of the best! This stuff is crazy, i need to try and get sum under my belt.

Well played man, this video was well worth the wait 5/5

    ROCK ON!

  • Rob, that rocked. It's great to see people with technical aptitude that still put feeling into it. 5*'s

  • This is great. I haven't listened to 311 in years, but after this you know I'll be digging up my old CDs. Are Schecter basses super nice? Thats the only brand of guitar I've really liked for a reasonable price.

  • I love my Schecter.....a wonderful instrument to compliment my Rick because the sound is the exact opposite as the Rick. I agree completely about the price, as well. Is it super-nice? It is if you set it up correctly for your fingers, which I did the day I got it (I like low action).

  • Its nice that you get the full 2nd octive. Good work- post your OWN stuff when you get it up to snuff and of course: Pricilla! Pricilla! Pricilla!

  • Yeh low action is mad, makes it so much easier to play and it just feels so much smoother

  • You never fail to amaze me! Damn man. You are my new white whale! I would hate you for being so good, but you seem like such a damn nice bloke that i'd feel bad.

    Keep it up dude.

  • *shoots steam out of his blow-hole*

    Thanks a ton, man!

  • nice!

  • Holy fuck, you fucking aced it, very, very well done, it's great to see that you uploaded this, it really is awesome.

  • Gee....thanks! It is one awesome tune, and I am glad that you liked it. I always get nervous when I put up my versions of these toughies....when you are an ear player, you have no idea if it is "right".

    Rock on!! \m/

  • Awesome stuff dude!

  • Hey man, nice to see you finally uploaded a video! And a kickass one at that, well done! Can't wait to see your own stuff posted on here.

  • The next tune is 4 and a half minuntes long, so I know it would take forever to make a video for it. Not sure what to do, but I have ideas. The song is pretty silly, but not as short and one-dimensional as the vowel song.

  • You rule. I wish we could jam - I play the drums, Im obssessed with 311! Its what I play the most of.

  • It really is the funkiest music in my reportiore. Thanks for giving this a look and f%$k the naysayers!

  • I love it!

"I give complete props to the one that rocks steady

With dexterity and goes on and on and on

And turn out the dope shit like the one that's called

Pawn Shop Press yes it's on what's up

    P-Nut change it up"

  • That part is one of the coolest 311 moments ever! I tried to do some justice to it, but I am no P-Nut....I'm more of a postaccio.

  • Whats Postaccio? And P-Nut or not, youre a bloody legend!

  • Spot on man. I couldn't tell the difference between your riffs and P-nut's (if there is any). I'd like to think my suggestion inspired you to finally record this song (as you said you had thought about it and it seems other suggested it before.) Keep rockin' man and hopefully you put up some of your original tracks.

  • It did...a combination of your request and BassmasterG asking me if there would be anything coming out soon prompted me to get off my duff.

  • this is fuckin nuts.. awsome work man

  • awesome dude . more!

  • Hey-I remember requesting this a while back!

nice job! yes that end part is tough to play as fast a PNut, but ya did a fine job!

  • You weren't the only one. I got another request for it this week, so I buckled under pressure. LOL. Actualy, it is too good a tune to pass up.

  • True that-I love to play it, but always have a tough time. Grassroots is, in my opinion, one of the best things 311 has done. As always, looking forward to more!

    -Thanks

  • zdkrnfst that was fantastic. Great tone, tight playing, and very energetic. I think I have a new favorite 311 song now! Thanks!

    -Brian

  • This is a keeper. The last part with the fast funky bass line reminds me of Santana for some reason.

  • Fuck yeah Zod. Keep em coming.

  • Will do!

  • Wow, good job rob! I thought it was perfect, and I would love to hear "Bad Hair Day", as I am having one right now! :)

  • You bet. I'll send it now. Thanks as always, Kyke!

  • That was boss
