  • The only counters to a good ivy user are maxi,taki or ivy herself unless your into voldo's weird ass then him too. Everyone else gets rocked by her.

  • actually, it can. if kept ur eyes on sophitia, she's stunned after every hit. on top of that, she won't have enough aerial control to move away.

  • you can avoid the stun of CL 6 A K , you can avoid too both WP ES B B and the last attack WP 66 A+B only hits if the oponent stays in the ground...

  • Fighting games aren't about playing based on some scrub's hackneyed philosophy, it's based on winning and learning from losses. If you lose by a loop, learn to not get caught in it. Improve your own game and stop projecting your faggotry like "loops are cowardly" onto the userbase, which ultimately just makes you shittier as a player for having such a mindset.

    Woah dude. I kinda get what your saying here but dont overgeneralize things here. If a character has such an easy to execute trap loop its not fair to players who use non-broken characters. If you say : "JUST DONT GET CAUGHT IN IT"

    You're kinda asking them not to get hit at all considering most of these loops start with a simple hit. Also, if people followed your definition of it so blindly we'd end up with a string of broken fighting games. Thats plain horrible game design.

  • iono, I'ma lv. 164 online and I have a 94% win stat, so when I see a "low" rank, I'm all like "this is gonna be too easy". I fucked around and ran into a lv 60 sumthin Ivy user just last week and he actually pulled some shit off like this on me...more than once. It was a close battle, but he won. So I'm all like, "lucky bastard", but I ran into the fucka like 2 or 3 more times with the same results...hate to say it, but a skilled Ivy with a combo set like this is a difficult opponent PERIOD!

  • impossible since the update, the rising bb from whip MAY catch people with the 1bk after but i dont believe you can transition back into whip for another rising bb fast enough now, just enough time for the first b to hit then they fall. i prefer another 4b,b to solid 214k for an end after the 1bk from whup

    so that added some extra damage.

    If you stun them with the first attack,

    Just do a sword or whip grab,

    114ish regular damage up front 100%

    Its easier for me to do whip on left

    and sword on the right.

  • Spoilers guys, in training mode the AI bounces max height no matter what. This combo doesn't work in real matches.

    I had been trying to transition during the 1B+K then quickly 2G to crouch for the WP WS B,B.

    I'm sure you know by now, but the beginning to this string is also and easy way into Ivy's infinite:

    CL 6A,K>4B(B+K transition)>WS B>infinite.

    Of course its not a true combo for the same reasons as this, but if they fail to block the kick and then break the stun, you've pretty much got them. Only thing is, damage is scaled to 2 per hit instead of the usual 10 if started from a SW WS B.

  • Just to be clear, can someone confirm that the inputs on this are:

    CL 6A,K>4B(A+K WP transition)>WS B,B>1B+K(A+K WP transition)>WS B,B>1B+K>4B(A+K transition)>66AA+B

    I'm fine up until the second WS B,B... I just can't seem to transition back into WP and catch 'em with the second WS B,B before they land.

  • Here's the secret! While waiting to do the second WS B,B, I hold 1AKG. That makes me transition AND crouch right before I release the 2nd WS B,B

  • I've got the first three moves down, but how the hell do you get into a whip state from the Back+B?

  • Hold AK during the backB. Whenever you see the whip flash red, it's going to a longer form. When you see it flash blue, it's going to a shorter form...

  • You have to be in "counterhit" mode, which I activated with the first 2 hits...I have some good stuff coming soon with Ivy...she's so minty!!!

  • The air grab at 7 sec is pretty much a lock. The 9 sec mark, they can Ukemi, which will still get them hit, but they will squirm on the ground instead of being pulled into the air. At the 12 sec mark, that air grab is very hard to get out of, due to the speed the 2nd hit comes out. At the 17 sec mark, that hit is avoidable with Ukemi. However, if I had went to sword mode and done the foot stomp, that would have been unavoidable.

  • You mean like roll away from an attack or get up quickly? Then yes, but its called a Ukemi in this game

  • But you guys are correct, with Just Ukemi, the grab on the ground doesn't launch...it will still hit, but just not launch. The whip air throw tho is still very hard to get out of, even with air control. Still, against the CPU on tower #46, they still don't get out of it.

  • As far as I can see, only one of these moves is new, so yeah. If anything, Ivy's moves have slowed down, allowing Ukemi much easier and also allowing retaliation while Ivy messes up and goes for a prone character that isnt there anymore. A slightly experienced player should be able to get out of this.
