The film first of all portrays American soldiers as immortals who can't be killed by hundreds of AK47s - how ridiculous! Especially in the end when he runs back to get that box, I mean they might as well be playing the Star Sprangled Banner during that scene. Pathetic. Furthermore, the accents of the non-Balkan actors was horrible. Terrible and funny

@morerad123 When someone tries to speak our language, they better do it right or not do it at all. I looked at the credits and saw Czech/Polish/Russian names. I don't care that those actors were Slavic. They were not Yugoslavian, they can not speak Serbo-Croatian-Bosnian and the way they prononuced stuff made everything so unbelievable. The film glorified Americans as heroic warriors and the whole story was not even based on facts. The real story of the American pilot shot down is not heroic.
@BiHBanjaLuka I agree about the actors. Non of em were actual Serbs. But the film was based on a real event. Serbs did actually shoot down an American F-16 (not F-15 like the film) and the pilot had to evade everyone and use survival skills. Not to heroic. But in the end and in reality, thousands of innocent people were killed over nothing more than just religion and this movie makes it look OK to do so.

I usually enjoy war dramas, I've been to Afghanistan for 7 months with the french foreign legion, I've been to africa (ivory coast) and I've seen some heavy shit... but the end of that movie (the bus ride, when they're stopped by the croats) is one of the most fucked up things I've ever seen, and trust me I've seen some very ugly things in Africa (the after maths of rebel raids with naked dead children, etc)

you can't say that there were mostly muslim victims because muslim government is strictly against a census of pupulation, while the serbs want it at all costs to see how many people really died.
The larger issue of the movie is that there were no good guys, not even the FFL since Dennis Quaid killed a civilian at the begining of the movie. The UN appeared to do jack except stand around, Muslims executed the woman's father, Goran was going to kill the baby, and the Croat HVO unit clubbed BOTH sides to death. To someone not familiar with this war it can be confusing but after a little bit of reading I was able to grasp this. I rated the movie 10 out of 10 btw and I am from America.

@morerad123 Behind Enemy Lines was the biggest piece of garbage I have EVER seen. Take my word and I am Bosnian who saw the war with his own eyes. The film first of all portrays American soldiers as immortals who can't be killed by hundreds of AK47s - how ridiculous! Especially in the end when he runs back to get that box, I mean they might as well be playing the Star Sprangled Banner during that scene. Pathetic. Furthermore, the accents of the non-Balkan actors was horrible. Terrible and funny

@morerad123 When someone tries to speak our language, they better do it right or not do it at all. I looked at the credits and saw Czech/Polish/Russian names. I don't care that those actors were Slavic. They were not Yugoslavian, they can not speak Serbo-Croatian-Bosnian and the way they prononuced stuff made everything so unbelievable. The film glorified Americans as heroic warriors and the whole story was not even based on facts. The real story of the American pilot shot down is not heroic.

@BiHBanjaLuka I agree about the actors. Non of em were actual Serbs. But the film was based on a real event. Serbs did actually shoot down an American F-16 (not F-15 like the film) and the pilot had to evade everyone and use survival skills. Not to heroic. But in the end and in reality, thousands of innocent people were killed over nothing more than just religion and this movie makes it look OK to do so.

I usually enjoy war dramas, I've been to Afghanistan for 7 months with the french foreign legion, I've been to africa (ivory coast) and I've seen some heavy shit... but the end of that movie (the bus ride, when they're stopped by the croats) is one of the most fucked up things I've ever seen, and trust me I've seen some very ugly things in Africa (the after maths of rebel raids with naked dead children, etc)

Excellent movie; Watched it a long time ago without truely understanding it but knowing it had something; watched it again understanding the history of it all alot more; Powerful, emotional, equally damning of the inhumanity of those who acted out against the fellow man/woman and child regardless they be serb, croat or bosniak; All sides acted with the belief of serving their people, all the while fueling the others desire for revenge.. The CROATIAN Army was in much worse state as the serbian army. In August 1995, Croatia started Operation Storm and quickly overran the rsk (army of serbia) . In four days, approximately 150-200,000 Serbs left Croatia.

The CROATIAN homeland war began in 1991 when the JNA tried to keep CROATIA forcefully in yugoslavia by occupying the whole of CROATIA. The first battle was on 13 May 1990, a football game was held in Zagreb between Zagreb's Dinamo (CROATIA) team and Belgrade's Crvena Zvezda (serbia) team. The game erupted into violence, between groups of supporters and the police. Even the football players started to fight against each other. That was the first incident of the war.

The larger issue of the movie is that there were no good guys, not even the FFL since Dennis Quaid killed a civilian at the begining of the movie. The UN appeared to do jack except stand around, Muslims executed the woman's father, Goran was going to kill the baby, and the Croat HVO unit clubbed BOTH sides to death. To someone not familiar with this war it can be confusing but after a little bit of reading I was able to grasp this. I rated the movie 10 out of 10 btw and I am from America.

Hollywood always tries to make their movies simple so there has to be only one "bad" side. Fortunately Savior is different.
I think Serbs have been shown in nearly so many movies as the most guilty, because their military potential was the biggest one. They were the strongest side of that conflict. The fact is that all of three sides of that war had been murdering the civilians. Guilty are also UN who were only watching massacre of three sides villages.

En una línea similar, aunque con un carácter más documental: Katyn, sobre el genocidio que cometió Stalin sobres los polacos: 20.000 oficiales polacos asesinados por el solo hecho de no ser de izquiedas.
