Thank you a millions times over for posting this. I cannot express what hearing and seeing a slight performance and interview of Mr. Williamson means to me. I always read deeper into his performances as the Nome King from Return to Oz and Merlin in Excalibur as both an all knowing entity of the plot and world. A world weary man, I'm assured now. He might be a sole reason why I read into performances of an older generation and wanting to become an internal actor. Again thanks.
Thanks for posting this. If you can get hold of any other interviews with Nicol Williamson I would be grateful if you could post them. He is very insightful here, although his take on death is rather depressing.

05/03/91: Williamson whacked Handler in the butt with his sword, during a rehearsal of I Hate Hamlet. Handler quit the show on the spot.

God Bless NW, who once knocked (punched) the vile David Merrick - into a garbage can!

How strange that this was posted a month to the day before Williamson's own death.

Watching this, the BBC of today should hold it's head in shame regarding the quality of the chat show's they offer us as "entertainment". RIP Nicol.

At 13:50 we witness the invention of the sort of interaction between talk show host and audience often attributed to Phil Donahue.
