Shamans have a way to build aggro its called frost shock + I dont think he got Spirital weapons so he didn't have 30% reduce threat but the down side is with out he he couldn't parry at all

@Shaddow1131 Frost shock is like a 6 second cd taunt, plus talents in the ele tree reduce your threat i beleive though im not 100% but yeah a very short cd taunt is how he did it, along with stoneskin totem which has alot of HP (for a totem atleast) and does a constant AoE taunt until it is killed

@Walkure3240 Frost shock isn't a taunt; it generates a large amount of threat. A taunt is ONLY a spell that specifically bumps you up above the highest person on the threat table. Even mocking blow and abilities that force the enemy to attack you for a few seconds are not taunts.

go visit my youtube channel if you want to see what i'm tanking nowadays. This was shot during patch 3.0x, i was wearing mostly deadly accessories, blue stamina trinkets, crit immune through resilience. My avoidance was about 20% and i had about 29k hp unbuffed.

We had stoneclaw absorb but it was 30sec cd, and we had no fire nova

well am not pretendin -.- lol i have all tank classes and ive tanked wit all of them and duh warrior is the one i enjoy the most but thats mainly on thrash or heroics and crap lol...raid wise it can get rather boring just hitting one key and i cast 2 "spells" and hit another when i get the shield slam proc or Tclap every now and then 2 keep the debuff up

there's nothing more discouraging than a tank in pvp gear. unless it's a goddamn enhance shaman, in which case i bow to you sir.

They were going to, but they decided against it. It's just usually not a good idea for tanks, since PvP gear doesn't have the avoidance... they also changed up feral druids so they don't need to be uncrittable through gear anymore, which was part of why you saw so many druid tanks in PvP gear in TBC.

However, the general damage reduction component of resil only applies to damage from players; so in PvP, resil reduces crit chance, crit damage, and mana drains.

the only reason this works is because the shaman tanking clearly know his class inside out. probly better than the guys at blizz. he also has great knowladge of game mechanics. dnt start thinking every old shamn can do this because they cant and if i ever get spamed to let a shammy tank my heroic he will be added to my ignore list

if you noticed, he's using some casting gear so his spells are causing abit more threat.

iv said it before ill say it again resilience works fine for crit immunity. You dont need 540 defense, you just need 5.6% crit resistence to avoid getting slaughtered.

@sharicasmi Yep. That was how druid used to tank back in TBC. I had a mixture of some leather defense gear and mostly PvP gear to get to the 5.5 or 5.6% crit immune and it was all golden. I tanked all of Kara with that setup and the only thing healers said was how easy I was to heal. By end of TBC I was rocking around 50% dodge unbuffed and it was a breeze to tank anything. Was wonderful.

the reason this video has so much mob fights is because the mobs were actually harder than the boss lol. Its the raid buffs and misdirects that really make my job easy enough to self heal. An all shaman group could clear alot more than this but it was alot of strain and effort. Every dps had to use windshock to keep their threat down, and dropped magma totem because it produces no threat. Truly epic sartharon downing.
