I have been thinking about the oil in the gulf and came across this song and it struck a chord. "Angry sun burn down judging us all, guilty of neglect and disrespect and thinking small....and death by boredom and death by greed if we can't stop taking more than we need". The lazy, who make no effort to contribute to society, should not benefit from your fathers money, but the money should be shared by those prepared to work for our society. In this system much of the money your father was taxed would benefit him on redistribution. And any money that did not would benefit others like him, perhaps those who put in the effort, but don't share his talents.

I do believe that hardworking people like your father deserve financial reward, but a system should be in place to benefit all that are hardworking, whatever their abilities. By taxing the wealthiest, the government is able to distribute the money fairly. The problem, in my opinion, is that how it chooses to redistribute it is in many ways unfair.

I do agree however that their are many out there with the ability to work and contribute to society who choose instead to rely on government handouts. This is wrong and should be addressed, perhaps by tightening the benefits system.

In response to jjnb57. Your father should pay higher taxes so that the skills he was born with, and has used through hardwork to setup his own business, can benefit other people. For example those who were born with less talent and yet in spite of all the hardwork they may put in will never be able to achieve what your father has.

I liked hearing David's old accent, too, however, I think his voice sounds much better now that he's older and his voice has aged. To me, it made his most recent live performances of 'Shine' even better, sounding more mature. I'd love to hear him sing his older songs now, to see whether they'd sound even better, too.

Obama's is redistributing the wealth in this country. Why should my dad, who worked hard to start his own business and employ people have to pay more in taxes. It's fucking bullshit. People need to get off their ass and quit looking for government handouts. Don't be a slave to the system, work hard for your money and you will be a better person for not getting a handout. Be responsible and take the blame for your actions. (Not directing this at 98buick just venting)

Because if the gap between the wealthy and poor continues to grow and the middle class sinks to the bottom too, our country will be a country of slaves with horrible health insurance. The middle class is disappearing my friend, taxes trend up, they always have-they always will. We just have to decide whether we want to extend a helping hand to the poor or to the wealthy? Which makes sense to you?
