When you play 1080p the CPU will be busy processing that amount of data.

you can playback 1080p on monitor with a resolution of 800x600.

As a note to top rated commenter KittyKranker -- 1080p video is not 1080x768. 1080p is 1920x1080. The Playbook, if it has a resolution of 1024x600, can't even do 720p (1280x720). However, despite having never tested or looked into the playbook, I'd assume it's got at least 720, or it won't begin to compete with other tablets.
