You're right. The hard part is finding that person. But like you said, it will be totally worth it! And Frankie is right about how a lot of people just can't deal with how upfront you can be about your emotions and opinions, but you don't need everyone to love you...you just need the one! You will find him, I have no doubt about it. Everyone deserves true love and happiness especially someone who is so true to themselves and loves who they are. That is a very admirable quality that few have.

I can"t agree with you more chris! When you find that one person for you, and I hope you do because you have such a kind heart and are so true to yourself, you won't have to do anything different from what you normally do to keep them loving you. But if you stay true to yourself, even if you lay on the couch all day eating taco bell, there will be someone who will love you no matter what. And I am sure there is a guy who couldn't be happier than when he is serving his soul mate tacos!

I think that the two of you have different ideas of what love should be. Frankie, I think, feels that love grows out of compromise. Sometimes it does, that's not wrong. Meanwhile, Chris, you are searching for the kind of love that they write books about -- unconditional, always. It isn't worship, even if others think it would be -- because it's mutual. There's nothing wrong with that idea either. They're kind of mutually exclusive, but they're not wrong. Keep looking, both of you! And good luck!

I really love this. and i know you say no one understands you even though they do but i honestly feel the same way. i hold a lot back in my personality to feel "socially acceptable" because i think if people ever knew the real me they would pull the crazy card as well. Your honesty and how you put it all out there is admirable, even if people feel uncomfortable or disagree with your views because they're controversial they cant accept it. If someone wants you to change for their own purposes then you have every right to refuse, which is what you described right? But imo that is "changing for love."
Changing for love is when you love a person so much that you are willing to sacrifice certain things about yourself, without being asked to, because you want to make the other person happy. You do it from your heart because you put their happiness above your own.
If you expect others to do what you won't then you're being selfish.

I think its all about moderation. When you are in the initial stages, first impressions really count. Only once you get comfortable with that person and develop a sense of trust, would I recommend showing our "ugly" side. I think its just about easing into it overtime. I do a lot of things that my hubby dislikes, but he has learned to accept those things just as I do of his flaws. Ugh, it is complicated...I see your point though.

Hmm.. This is interesting. Y'know, I don't think people hate you, because they don't know you. How can you hate what you don't know enough of. I think people forget that we see is only what you choose to show. Quite frankly I like the parts of you, the "real" you, that you show. Sometimes you need to change for love. My boyfriend did. He used to be a big player and and cheat on whoever he was together with. He changed after we got together and even his family and friends said that he had changed when w got together. If there is someone YOU really love, there might be things you have to change if you want the best for the other person. My bf also quit smoking for me. I call that "changing for love".

So many people have these grand expectations of love that are not realistic. There is no such thing as a soul mate - and that isn't me saying you can't be completely committed to one person for your entire life. It's just that you can always fall in love with someone else, and with that being true no sane human wants to put up with a bitch when there are other fish in the sea.
