  • that guitar solo is so not necessary. it gives the impression the guy feels he has to prove that men are still the better musicians or somethin.

  • Nah, I think you're wrong. Guitar solo is good, this guy is a part of a well know duo. Besides, he plays another instrument, why would he try to give that impression?

  • @fiedelmina

All that is in your head. I really enjoyed that solo.

  • I've seen Mairead ni Mhaonaigh live and she is amazing, and really nice too!

  • This is definetly progressive rock :D

I mean, progressive rock is definetly "inspired" by popular music

  • This is amazing!!

I've seen Liz Carroll play live before, but I'd never seen any of the other fiddlers. This was really great!! Thanks for sharing!

  • ahh beautiful ^_^

  • I've met Liz Knowles she is REALLY nice. I would LOVE to see Liz Carroll perform. THAT would be amazing.

  • This is awesome, ironically as a guitarist I found the guitar was horrible. It sounded so messy when combined with the flow of the strings.

  • I completely agree. It sounded very messy as you said, and that extra echo didn't fit at all. The violins were flowing, while the guitar was stumbling.

  • Cool tune! Tight as a drum

  • Does anyone know where I can buy a Scandenavian hardanger fiddle.?

  • There is one on ebay for $1,900.00

  • its weird how they don't really move there finggures that much i lift mine rite off the strings

  • If you work at keeping your fingers really close to the string instead when you playing you will be using your energy more effectively and will be able to play faster easier.

  • If you watch Mairead ni Mhaonaigh her fingers fly off the string too and I do that as well so it's really what you are comfortable with. You will see fiddlers hold the bow differently hold the fiddle differently. It's what feels right for you.

  • Great tune & a wonderful dvd! Too bad Emma's not in this clip.

  • Annbjorg is such an amazing fiddler! Always a pleasure to watch her.

  • very nice! so brilliant indeed!

  • OMG, that was Stunning! Liz Carroll and Liz Knowles brilliant as always. Now I'll have to check out the other's solo performances as well.

  • Fun and virtuosity !! Congratulations ! Phalaina

  • HOLY WOW! That was FANTASTIC! =)

  • the sister with black hair, I LOVE her fiddle!!! I want one like that!

  • that is a Scandianvian Hardanger fiddle -it has understrings that ring when the main strings are played. Lovely sound.

  • It is the National instrument of Norway. They were once outlawed by the church because it was thought to possess the frenzied fiddler. On the head a "gargoyle" is sometimes carved to scare away evil spirits. They produce strange and mysterious drone sounds and sometimes cat screeches when played adding to the superstition.
