  • if we had to change the design, this is about the best design Ive seen so far.

  • I love it! I'm actually not Australian, but I'm a World Cityzen. And I see this campaign of some of you and I really love it! I think all the Nations should have its own symbols, despite the "heritage" and all that. I'm argentine, my country is the less aboriginal of Latin America. We descend of Italians and Spaniards at most, and we know it well, but that's no reason of having a foreign flag inside our... We are in a new land, we make a new and plural nation!! :) Greetings from Argentina :)

  • Why would we want a flag that looks like a discoloured Qantas logo?

  • then why position the star under the kangaroos arse?

  • Fuck this, Australian heritige is english. Not fucking aboroginal or anything. Keep the flag as it is. People died for that flag.

  • @maxleesaus It still is English mate. Botany bay is where Cook landed and built the first settlement remember? And no one died for the flag, they fought to protect there homes & country, not a flag, which by the way was the the union flag that was flown through both WW1 & 2. The current flag wasn't flown in war until Vietnam, and that was America's war, of which Australia being apart of Britain, was ordered to join. The flag above is Australian!

  • @malleestump Just thought you should know, Cook landed in Botany Bay and planted the flag for England but Phillip set up settlement further north in Sydney Cove because of a lack of a fresh water source in Botany Bay. I agree with your thoughts that our military fight wars for our homeland and its people ,the flag should represent the people and up to the fifties it was predominately Anglo -saxon ,it has changed a lot since then and a new flag would reflect this ,it should be more AUSTRALIAN.

  • @malleestump

You have to have something that represents the Aboriginals, otherwise it'll never be passed. They sure as hell won't pass a flag that leaves the Aboriginals unorganised AGAIN.

  • @maxleesaus err so is Canada & USA, Er do u see the union jack on there flag?

  • @maxleesaus It was our land untill England invaded.. and it will always be our land.. and we share it with you.. so respect it.. our real heritage is Koori

  • The green & Gold section is a land mass, more precisely, a stylized rendition of Botany Bay. This is the founding place were the old world & the new collided to form the current one we know as Australia. It represents all Aussie's without discrimination and although the roo may appear to be defecating onto a star, the fact remains it is Australia's coastline, and the stars are in the ocean! This is the land below the southern cross....turn it 90 degrees.

  • calling your flag an aboriginal name wont cut it as far as aboriginal recognition goes and why have you got the kangaroo either crapping out the federation star or crapping on it?

  • @aussie1ification the kangaroo isn't shitting on the federation star or shitting it out. harden the fuck up

  • Car flags available on ebay (you tube want post link) - search: new australian flag, & look for picture?

  • I call this flag "Gadi Mirrabooka" In respect of the indigenous population, which means: Below the southern cross!

  • I love this design..... Perfect!

  • @AshAlmond Thankyou

  • The Aussie jack, kangaroo jack? Call it what you will? This is Australia's coastline (our Island home). The blue ocean, the green bush and our golden beach in the shape of a roo. It is reference to Botany bay, the place where Australia, as it is known today, technically first began in 1788.

The federation star, with it's 7 points referring to our 6 states & the 7th referring to our territories, is still present as is our humble southern cross, the very symbol that unifies our people....

  • Good bye union jack...and hello kangaroo jack hahah@

  • @ScarlettDuchess he he yes! Might make good name for it?

  • @ScarlettDuchess

Ah i thought this rly was the new flag,U ppl are still owned by the British,,,,losers :)

  • @zxcts not always true after we sign over from the british that we are no a country that runs by it self with out another country..

  • I like our current flag.

  • We definitely need a new flag, and we need republic. We are Australians ,and so many Aussies don't have British heritage so we should remove union jack from our flag, but that doesn't mean people with british heritage are bad.We got so many good things from Britain and English language. We should acknowledge that and go our own way.We need to have confidence that we are able to live on our own.

  • @MrSrbman Very true!

  • Please leave a comment :) Support the cause for a new flag! Happy Australia day 2011 & into the future....
