This speech always gets me going. This speech is what got me through first grade back then. It's amzaing how Toonami inspired me so much. Especially this music video. It's also what drives me to go to college. "A boy can dream endless possibilities. Whatever happens, face the future head on, no matter what choice you make, with courage. Whatever happens then is up to you. The children leave home to follow this quest and as they go, they wonder, "what's out there for me...What's waiting for me?"
We DO want toonami on CN we just need the right people directing it. Don't lose hope. We have toonamiaftermath.om that plays toonami ALLL day we want some new shoes that stay true to the innovation we knew and loved. We need Toonami disciples. Are you with me?
:O?! Some of the episodes were not necessary but it was overall (in my standing) its high on the list with Cowboy Bebop and a lot of Anime from the 90's-2008's.
Yeah. But I think it was a TERRIBLE mistake to have her killed off. She had a sense of leadership. Which could have made the show more popular. Rule #1 NEVER kill off a basa55 character. Especially if it's a female. : ) I mean I kinda liked it from the start but I can see why it did not gain that much popularity. If a sequel is made. It should be about Hilda like resurrected or something. And If I ever become an animator like I want to then I'm going to try to make my own show.
Who are we? Where are we going in life? Billions of people in this world and only one of us. Only one like us. Do we live the lives of legends or losers? What makes a man great? Why does a boy lose his innocence to become a man? All I know is....don't fear failure.
Cartoon Network oughta hire one of us. "We know we've gone downhill, but there's nothing any of us can do. When we try to make anything right again, it gets shot down."
"I'll say this once- Toonami. Don't dilute it. Don't bring it down. Make it tough. Make it Hardcore. Make it Badass. Make it Gold."
@Famn180 Actually it is Beau Billingslea, the voice actor for Jet Black in Cowboy Bebop.
Peter Cullen has a slightly more epic and resonating voice. And definitely deeper. Check out "Advanced Robotics" at the right of this video and compare the two voices. Easy mistake to make.
i wish i could snatched cartoon network & toonami up by the collar and ask:
"youre gonna just keep runnin away?!"
their comeback a few years ago was terrible with that line up on saturday nights... R.i.P toonami... hopefully boomerang network works up the courage to resurrect this "greatness'
Ah, I love these so much...I remember being blown away by Toonami back in the day...if only it stuck to it. I wonder what the people who headed it are doing now? Whoever made this was definitely pretty talented, and they had loads of stuff like it on the block.
(Im putting this video on my computer so i always have it.) The Epicness of this video just puts shivers down my spine, i shall always love you Tom and Toonami, so Rest In Peace.
I've always ALWAYS remembered "you just gonna keep running away!" "Just keep running away?...I'm not running" and when stuff gets hard and i feel like quitting i repeat that to myself
Outlaw Star could blow Naruto's angsty wannabe-ninja bullshit out of the water at any given time. This is why we can't have nice things. I feel sorry for this generation.
I agree, anime today is getting worse and worse. The only good anime being aired right now is Fullmetal Alchemist, but that's just me, I haven't bothered looking up new animes to watch, nothing but crappy "Chibi" or "Kawaii" Bullcrap.
i know that anime is not just what they air in America.
But the majority I am seeing now is a bunch of anime based on schoolgirls and such. I watched the first season of Haruhi, liked it at first. Then looked back and realized "The hell was I watching?" this guy I know wanted me to watch Lucky Star, thank god I never did.
Also male protagonists now are starting to look like guys who look like girls. Weird that people are into protagonists like that now.
Well an older one that is pretty good is Great Teacher Onizuka. A new Anime that I actually really like is called Fairy Tail. Both are funny and have a lot of action. In regards to the guys who look like girls part, thats mainly for the female audience members. I'm still not sure why they like that though.
You know, I get it that we're all in nostalgia mode and everything, but what really gets me is that you don't see things like this on TV anymore, not the actual shows, but being taught a life lesson made clear through videos like this. It grabs your attention then teaches you about life, and it doesn't feel like values are being shoved down your throat either, its something you do not see these days...
@WildcatSalas Thats very true, infact most times you see the opposite. This, for me, was what really inspired me when I was a teenager. As nerdy as that sounds, what they are saying is true, and I only find it more true the more life goes on.
@unionofonion how did you get a high rated comment, such a bad use of words, if you really were going to show respect to the memory then dont say things like that
People in the comments section for the video and bickering ruins it...Ruins something very personal to most of us that I happen to see when watching it that cannot be avoided and need to just stop and take their homo arguments elsewhere. My use of words are truthful and sincere, they aren't insincere. I'm just a very blunt person that isn't afraid to state the facts or truth.
@unionofonion Damn straight. Toonami was effin' awesome... Then, they replaced everything toonami-related with creepy ass shit known as the cartoons of today.
How many niggers have actually fucked your ass? Do you think that just because you make 'em pull out and shoot the load down your throat, that will keep you from getting AIDS?
May be I don't... but I know how stupid and gay you are.
Why be gay and stupid? Why not just be gay? If you're gonna let a man fuck your ass, at least choose a white man -- or even a dog -- cuz niggers are very likely to have AIDS.
Fuck, many sub-Saharan African countries (i.e. nigger countries) have an AIDS rate of 30%. 30 fucking percent! That means every third nigger has AIDS!
never? thats not possible. man this was something we used to see every day. but like all comercials they have their time so they fade off. maybe you watched it after or before
Coop (in ranting on CN): Listen up, you Disney wannabe! You destroyed Toonami, cancelled my favorite shows, and worst of all, stupid reality-fake shows! Well, there a lot of people who against this piece of garbage and Cartoon Network should stay true to the core!
the people that did these put a lot of thought and effort into these videos. in terms of inspiration i can't remember something of the same caliber that eclipses it.
you all have to realize, you don't want toonami on cartoon network right now. They would ruin it. What we want is toonami to have there own channel. With all the original people on it.
True. I could JUST see TOM 4 or someone alot worse than him screwing around. It's already bad enough it's a televisual Twilight Zone in our eyes and ears since mid 2005. 2006 became the beginning of a horror flick we're still seeing now to this day..........
In the Toonami farewell, Tom talks about how they gave us good memories. They must have known that we loved their stuff, but they still cut it. Sucks...
Money. That's all it is. CN was awesome, but Nickolodeon made more money. CN wanted to be like Nick.
They wanted to have their Nicktoons, their Spongebob. Their big money makers. But all their hit shows were from other studios. Bandai and Hasbro made billions off CN's marketing of their products.
They got rid of them in hopes of being like Nick and making original media, and never talking of the golden era of Toonami, ever again.
When dreams are involved, money is usually never too far off.
damn!!!! to all those people that loved this.....toonami sucked actually....it really did most shows were really boring, i only found myself enjoying bobobo-bo-bo- bobo or something like that.the rest was just boring.
I was like in elementary school when toonami came out !!! This brings back so many memories ^_^ !!! Good times ^_^ !!! I wish they good bring back the old Toonami when it was still good I mean ^_^ !!!
In their effort to wipe out anything left with the name Toonami; the powers that be at Cartoon Network have pulled the plug on Toonami Jetstream. Toonami's spirit cannot be erased so easily
i wish they would bring toonami back as well i grew up with it and practically everyone i know watched it as well. At least back then there were shows with a story or some hidden meaning that was told in an awesome way....now....they have droppped to the lowest forms of entertainment for kids i mean just turn there and see if you dont agree. cartoon reality shows. enough said.
Believe in yourself and create your own destiny dont fear failure. I have lived by those words ever since I heard this as a boy. Toonami help me become the man I am today
Those were the days. Before toonami was crap and before it was canceled. I still remember coming home after school and waiting for toonami to start. Kids today won't be able to experience how wonderful it use to be, now that it's gone. Today CN isn't what it use to be with it's crappy choice of lineups. Kids won't be able to say "Oh, I can't wait to get home to watch the next episode of Tenchi Muyo, Sailor Moon, Samurai X, or Dragon Balls!" *Sigh* I sure miss the good old days...
shit im 22 and this stuf was the best back then it really did shape the person i am today and reminds me why i built such a love for anime...respect, honor, truth, love, something that was so scarce when you were growing up
At first I thought you were being sarcastic, saying it's sad that anime reminded him of such things. I thought you were insulting him, but I realize that you're agreeing with him and it made me think...
...go ahead and casually talk to anyone, freely about respect, honor, truth and love... people assume it's just there. A concept that exists but not something they always have to share, to see or feel...
The truth is that people stopped looking at those as principles, and they become dust.
Fifteen here. I was four when it came out. I've been watching it all since then. Cleared your head after school, got you in a good mood, kept you up late, and introduced us to the best anime on the planet. I wish they made it their own channel or something, not just ditch it like Cartoon Network did. It deserved better. But, hey, soon enough they'll notice their ratings are under half without Toonami and will bring it back, if this new generation has a brain to watch more than mindless cartoons.
yea i completely stoped watching cartoon network after toonami was gone, man i miss toonami, right after school i would buy some snacks then sit down and watch toonami...man those were the days...now i just get to watch the line up on adult swim on saturdays...some one should revive toonami but not on cartoon network...
Whatever happens from now on, you stand ferm and face your destiny, without fear, but with courage.

In their effort to wipe out anything left with the name Toonami; the powers that be at Cartoon Network have pulled the plug on Toonami Jetstream. Toonami's spirit cannot be erased so easily

It's great how 1 thing reached out to all of us and gave us something in common. Sad to see the things that made us great not be around anymore

i wish they would bring toonami back as well i grew up with it and practically everyone i know watched it as well. At least back then there were shows with a story or some hidden meaning that was told in an awesome way....now....they have droppped to the lowest forms of entertainment for kids i mean just turn there and see if you dont agree. cartoon reality shows. enough said.

This was it. This defines Toonami for me.

Those were the days. Before toonami was crap and before it was canceled. I still remember coming home after school and waiting for toonami to start. Kids today won't be able to experience how wonderful it use to be, now that it's gone. Today CN isn't what it use to be with it's crappy choice of lineups. Kids won't be able to say "Oh, I can't wait to get home to watch the next episode of Tenchi Muyo, Sailor Moon, Samurai X, or Dragon Balls!" *Sigh* I sure miss the good old days...

shit im 22 and this stuf was the best back then it really did shape the person i am today and reminds me why i built such a love for anime...respect, honor, truth, love, something that was so scarce when you were growing up
slowbones08 3 years ago
That's kinda sad.
EreinionEluchil 3 years ago 5
At first I thought you were being sarcastic, saying it's sad that anime reminded him of such things. I thought you were insulting him, but I realize that you're agreeing with him and it made me think...
...go ahead and casually talk to anyone, freely about respect, honor, truth and love... people assume it's just there. A concept that exists but not something they always have to share, to see or feel...
The truth is that people stopped looking at those as principles, and they become dust.

Righteous interpretation. And yes, I agree.

GhostReportin07 3 years ago
yeha im 16 and i wish that the old toonami will just come on for at least a week
jvigg778 3 years ago
Fifteen here. I was four when it came out. I've been watching it all since then. Cleared your head after school, got you in a good mood, kept you up late, and introduced us to the best anime on the planet. I wish they made it their own channel or something, not just ditch it like Cartoon Network did. It deserved better. But, hey, soon enough they'll notice their ratings are under half without Toonami and will bring it back, if this new generation has a brain to watch more than mindless cartoons.
aetherkid 3 years ago 4
yea i completely stoped watching cartoon network after toonami was gone, man i miss toonami, right after school i would buy some snacks then sit down and watch toonami...man those were the days...now i just get to watch the line up on adult swim on saturdays...some one should revive toonami but not on cartoon network...
