  • Why would some one dislike this

  • ahora no hablan espanol ke lindos los tipos

  • Thanks so much for this video...i recently spent some time in Somotillo on my first mission trip...i absolutely fell in love with that place...it holds such a special place in my heart. hope to go back soon...god bless you and your work in central america!

  • thats awesome! i go through somotillo when driving to my moms hometown its right on the border with honduras!

  • You're cool man. I see you have a good heart. If only we all could travel and see what's beyond both, territorial and mind frontiers, this would be a much more beautiful world...

I'm always happy to meet another free person like you..

    Keep posting!!

  • Thanks for this video and thanks for helping the people of Nicaragua. Its true that eventhough people are poor they try to give you the best they can offer. I'm a Nicaraguan living in the States but I visit family there every year.

  • good job man ! thank u for helping the people that need it the most

  • gracias daniel!!!!!!!!! de que , de que se esten muriendo de hambre y sin oportunidad de empleo

  • You must watch the video: Pueblo Presidente. A naked reality of communist criminals of the FSLN.

  • ! Good job Mr Gringo! I was in Somotillo in 2006. Going back in 2009. Did you try las rosquillas de Somotillo ? :)

  • You right!

People is what makes the difference. I know they are poor but they will always will give you the best of wherever they have. Hospitality is a must in this land.

Trust me in this;I have been in all Europe but from all those country that I visited the human factor was a deficient element, specially in Switzerland and Germany.

    Nicaraguans share their friendship unconditionally.

An American Nicaraguan living in Europe.

  • thanks for showing that video that way people like me can feel a little more near of home i'm from there not only nicaragua but from that town and i honestly feel homesick when i see it

  • This is truly an amazing video, I travel to nicaragua several times a year and its really heartbraking how people live their day to day life's without what we take for granted. Being Nicaraguan myself I was once like those little kids in the video and everyday Im thankfull for being given the right be an american, let me know if you are planning to go back or know any project organization that help people out in nicaraguan I would deeply appreciate and again great video.

  • THANK YOU FOR THIS AMAZING VIDEO:)

Where do you live now? when are you going back to Nicaragua?

  • I'm in Utah right now. I'm always looking for opportunities to travel, but right now I'm not sure when I will make it back to Nicaragua.

    U r Doing an Excellent Job ..

    Keep Doing it ...

Im very proud of u ...

    Take Care My Friend..

By the Way Im Nicaraguan And I really enjoy ur videos...

  • Somotillo is among the pourest places in the North Western Region of Nicaragua.

  • When I find videos from good people like U about my home country fellows It makes me shiver. You comment is so valid when you say that despite of their poverty these people are always smiling

  • Thanks for the positive comment:) Nicaragua is a great place.

  • come to Santo Thomas the land of milk :D of nicaragua i live there

  • I find your comment to be somehow invalid, I am a native Nicaraguan and I have been in Somotillo and in communities that are much more poorer than this town. People smile not neccesarily for the reasons that they are "happy", if you are a guest in a rural community, the villagers will smile out of politeness but not because they "enjoy" living in the poor conditions that they are.

  • I understand that. You might be right... But the charm that you find from Nicas you barely find it anywhere else.

  • thank you for helping people in nicaragua, and being open minded, to other cultures, thank you for stopping by El Salvador, i hope you got to see good things.

  • my english is not too good maybe just a little too good than your spanish i want to say you than is a nice video of my country so far the video that i saw where just come visite nicaragua i don't really like it maybe too comercial any way i love what you say of my people even if they don't have money they keep the joy a smile in our face even if we don't have big building or the high way metros, we keep our simplicity, our kidness and that what turistes feld in love...

  • Not so, RevelAngel, et al. I'll say it in Spanish, or English or German or whatever language you please: As an foreigner living and working abroad, it is invaluable to be able to speak the local language. I merely expressed surprise that during Ryan's stay, he had not even learned to communicate with the people he was helping.

  • I was staying on a U.S. Military base while working on those buildings. They didn't let us out much, unless it was going to work, so unfortunately I didn't have much time to practice Spanish with the people who live there.

  • I missed Nicaragua,I lived a very privileged life in my country, I saw a lot of ppl living in extreme poverty, but this must sound stupid but I never thought my country was a very poor country,I never cared about other ppl other than "pll like me" living in comfortable homes, attending private schools, I understand how selfish I was,now I have a daughter and I am teaching her that we have a responsibility towards ppl that don't have the same privileges that we enjoy, and thanks for your report

  • Gallopinto is 100% Nica, go to Miami and ask for a Costa Rican gallopinto and they'll tell you you are wrong, the Nica food is famous in Miami, the fritangas are everywhere, even ppl for another country eat it.

  • What is a "lifer"

  • During the Vietnam war people who had been drafted called the Regular Army guys Lifers. Somebody who stays in the Army their whole life is a Lifer.

  • Again thanks for taking time to respond. I guess you are on the road somewhere? I'm sorry to see you alone part of the trip. You are an inspiration to me. I have lost my dad and brother to heart problems. My brother died suddenly of a blood clot at age 44 with no warning. He lived life much like you seem to. You are doing a special thing.

  • Oh, by the way... I plan to buy my first Apple computer soon. MacBookPro and also Final Cut Studio. I have never done editing, but I'm going for it full force because I know I will love it.

  • "people have nothing" .. First time I went back to El Salvador, that's the first thing that made an impression on me. The sheer poverty that some people live under. Somehow though, as you mentioned, life must go on, and they try to make the best of their situation.

  • why did you change the way you have been editing your clips.. ? It has a different feel...

anyway... I have taken a few hours to watch this series in its entirety...

I had a feeling the other guy was in the military because of some of the lingo that was used.. 5-50 cord.. poly-pro... etc.. haha..

  • Just trying new things I guess.

Both of us are in the National Guard.

  • I am from Panama and I like your videos, but why don't you ever respond to my comments?

  • Sorry amigo, must have missed the questions you left as comments, I'll try to go back when I have time and answer them.

  • AmigA. :)

Thank you for such a kind comment. I had felt a little bad for leaving this, almost like I was fussing. I am sorry for that. I like your videos very much, as they remind me of home and our trips driving from Panama to the U.S. in my childhood.

  • lol hold it still hold it still

cause i got people who complain all the time.

    me too

  • Thank you for visiting our country !

  • puto rasista maricon i hope u die fuget....!!!!

  • Why Ryan doesn't talk in spanish codpeace88 ??? must be the same reason you can't even write that fucking racist comment on english I guess... Loser

  • Hey what was that thing that flew over the elderly ladies head (extremely fast) when she was saying "Daniel." No plane or bird goes that fast. What was that??? What was that???

  • Nicaragua es bello no matter what some people say!

  • The kid knew gang signs...that's just great and your teaching them ghetto slang...your on top of it. Gimme a break.

  • Yeah, all people from the ghetto are evil. And the words they use make them that way.

  • Awesome work. Do you do volunteer work through an agency or church? If so could you provide the name or how people could help.

  • I was there with the National Guard. Yes, George W. lets us do nice things sometimes. If you want to help any Army recruiter would be glad to let you sign your life away. I'm still in by the way:)

  • Nice 2 see decent people like yourself take the time to help out the people of Nicaragua. Keep it up and good luck on the rest of your trip.

  • Hey half-throttle:

I love the site. Yeah, I understand what you're saying. Americans don't leave the country and explore as much as they should, and when they do, they stay on a bus tour or resort and shut themselves off from the people of the place.

Once you get bitten by the travel bug, you never want to stop exploring. It's a big world out there. Keep it up.

  • and i think the people there like seeing themselves in the camera just maybe

  • oh yeah that moron oh thought that the camera was shaky what a baby. this was his name by the way if anyone wants to yell at him or call him a moron DOcrepITy
