Is there a possibility of taking a class of Dance Therapy Movements without being a therapist?? I will love to take one class and get any kinda certification or something like that to put in my resume. I am a mentor of a treatment center and I love being involve with kids and teenagers and help them to deal with their issues. as a mentor I find this DMT really interesting and helpful..any suggestions?? thanks
Great Inspirational Video! I changed my Major 2 Dance therapy! I went 2 College with the mindset of dance dance dance, but had to change my major, due to a injury. Yrs later I'm still have the heart for dance. This is my heart. I won't to earn my degree & become just like u. Thank you. I do have mild cerebral palsy & I won't others to know anything is possible if u set your mind to it.
What profoundly beautiful, healing, creative and inspiring work you are doing, "verawellness"! I have been on the path of integrating my love for the arts and my love for therapeutic healing and am starting to really define how that will manifest. In seeing the work coming into a tangible truth, I have come to a point of wanting to see who else in the world is doing this type of work already. Yours is one of the first two videos i've watched and I am lit from within knowing you do what you do.!
@dance0dream Funny you say that. Sadly there used to be an EXCELLENT graduate program in Dance/Movement Therapy at UCLA. Alma Hawkins (Former Dean of the former UCLA Dance Department) started it in the 1960's. Sally Fitt ADTR was one of the professors along with Alma. After Alma retired Erma Desmontes Alperson took it over. It was a fantastic program. Somewhere in the 1980's or 1990's UCLA ended it's entire Dance Therapy program. Alma should be rolling in her grave. : ( Darn.

I really like that video !!
The only problem with dance movement therapy is that they only offer 5 programs in US!!!!! They should have one more in CA !!!

@dance0dream Sorry, I didn't mean Sally Fitt. she was a Dance Kines. professor. Susan Lovell was the name of the other Dance Therapy professor.
