In the 12th and 13th centuries, the Cathars formed an important spiritual movement. Averse to all dogmas, they aimed at elevated human values such as austerity, immaterialism and noblesse de coeur.

They were persecuted by the Inquisition for heresy, and finally brought down in Montségur, a town in the French Pyrenees.

Yep I did,-but has had nothing to do with the" masters of chant" itself or "era"-when I create a slideshow I pick first a music out and then I search for the fitting pics and there I wanted some monks, so i have taken them.

Very nice music, but this has nothing to do with cathar music. From commercial point of view I can understand this, but to get the real feeling, if it is possible, of so called cathar music, listen to "Les Tisserands". It is a combination of the musical groups Amorroma, Traces and Zefiro Torna. Then you will understand what I mean.
