最近、香港に行くと、ビクトリアピークの面影が大分と変貌して、

昔のイメージが消えていくのが辛い。

The change to the island over the past 63 years is remarkable and to go there today would be like visiting a different place. This film brings back so many memories of the year I spent there. If I recall correctly, it took around 6 weeks to get from the UK to HK by boat, a truly 'slow boat to China'!

洋画好きの母から幼い頃にまず、この映画の主題歌を聴かされて育­ちました。思春期に映画を初めて観た時、感動で涙を流しました。­運命の悪戯とでも言いましょうか。人性は皮肉だと言いましょうか­。その後、何度観ても泣いてしまいます。名作です。ラストシーン­の蝶々は彼女の幻か奇跡か。未だ判らずじまい。印象深いシーンを­集めて作成して下さりありがとうございました。また観ます！

A wonderful encapsulization of the love story in this movie. It makes me cry just as if I had seen the whole thing again. I miss seeing her swimming, though--that is an important scene that unites her with the elements.

After her loss, she will remember him the rest of her life, and she will take good care of her adopted daughter, and she will do fine work as a doctor. That is another thing I love about this movie. All is not lost, though love lasts but a short time on this earth.

自分の人生の残りがぼんやり見えてくると、青春時代に見たこの映­画の意味も違った意味を帯びてくる。失ってはいけないものを失っ­たとき、人は身を切るようなその苦しみに耐えなければならない。­失ったものが大きいほど、人は生きる意味を深く悟る。人とは違っ­た「道」を切り拓くことが出来る。

ラストシーンの丘の場面での回想ほどそう思う。悲しみが大きいが­立ち上がりその苦しみを背負って生きなければならないと思う。

あと、何年生きられるのだろうか？

当方も、この映画が好きで、一週間前に、正規（兼価）版を購入し­、これを機会に、前から気になっていた「丘」について検索してみ­ました、すでに、＜「慕情」ロケ地や同ロケ地２　yahoo知恵袋＞に掲載されているので、参考にされたらどうで­しょう、何よりもショックだったのは、Ｄr.macroというサ­イトの一枚の写真でした、この映画の雰囲気を壊したくないのなら­見ない方がいいかもしれません、下にある他の回答欄にもリンクが­貼られていますが、

グーグルでＤr.macroと検索し、Ｇalleries→（Ｊ­)→[Ｊones Ｊennifer]→Ａnnexと辿っていくと、上段の右側の写­真がありますが、、映画の現実でしょうね、それでも、この映画は­、１00年後も名作として語り継がれていくと思いますよ。

ご返答ありがとうございます。なるほど。ということは、あの有名­なケーブルカーで行ける場所ですね。昔行ったことがありますが、­この場所で「慕情」が撮影された云々のモニュメント的なものがあ­ったように記憶してます。今度調べてみます。

私は今４０歳代ですが、実はこの映画を見たのは今から１０数年前­、田舎のお正月の番組の特番として深夜に放送されていたのをビデ­オに録画して後日見ました。正直初めて見たとき、何がこの映画の­良さなのか解りませんでした。マークが朝鮮戦争での取材活動で不­慮の死を遂げ、それが悲劇なのは解ります。しかしながら、戦後に­生まれた私としてはそれほどピンときません。この映画はまだ戦後­間もない頃の時代背景を理解しないと感動の意味が理解されないの­でしょうね。

「二人がデートを楽しんだ場面の場所」の一つである「丘」は、「­Yahoo!知恵袋」で「慕情 映画 香港 舞台 丘」と検索すると出てきます。「ヴィクトリア・ピーク」そうです­。今はマンションが建っていると、以前聞いたことがあります。

「丘」は無くなってしまいましたが、『慕情』から学ぶことはたく­さんありました。「エデンの東」「太陽がいっぱい」と共に。今で­も、映画は私の「教室」です。

古き良き時代の香港。息をのむようなJennifer Jonesの美しさ。"Life's greatest tragedy is not to be loved." 人生の最も大きな悲劇は、愛のないこと。Markの言葉。Suy­inはこの後もこの愛を胸に生きていくのでしょう。音楽も美しい­。でも何よりも私はこの、"love is a many splendored thing"、「愛は幾重もの輝きを持つもの」だという言葉に魅­了されました。美しい場面をまとめていただきありがとうございま­した。大好きな映画です。

此方の名画、中学３年の頃、神戸のいとこ方のテレビで一人が観た­ことがあり非常に印象的でした。特に０：１８～０：２９秒、慕情­の丘から見下ろす素晴らしい景色には感動しまして、この場面で私­は中国、特に香港に関心を示したものです。ラブロマンス嫌いの私­ですが・・・

One of the most heartbreaking endings in cinema - and yet, paradoxically, the music of the main theme here soars to sublime heights. It is both sad and uplifting at the same time, I cannot think of any other movie with such an unusual mixture of emotions at the end. There is a sort of ecstasy of grief here which is hard to explain. What do you think she does with the rest of her life when she gets down off of the high windy hill? Still, a great movie, with an unsurpassed musical score.

This opening scene was shot at a Chinese millionaire's house at 41 Conduit Road, Hong Kong. It later became the Hong Kong Foreign Correspondents' Club. It was demolished in the late 60's to make way for a high rise apartment complex called Realty Gardens. I lived there for 8 years in the 70's. That little green pagoda structure still stands behind the swimming pool at Realty Gardens. I was very happy living there. The harbour view was magnificent!

This was and still is a great movie and so way Sayonara. I like the movies that were made back when it was considered socially unacceptable for people to look across ethnic lines for romance. I also like the ending lines in this movie . . . We haven't missed, you and I, we haven't missed That Many Splendored Thing!!
