This show was good the first year and then just got dumber and dumber. Hey the fonz got so good he only had to snap his fingers and not hit anything with his fist. Jumping the shark come on! ayyyyyyyyyy
Fonzie's going to ride the bull!!! God, this was a complete joke. Another show that stayed on the air 5 years too long but made them all rich. Pathetic.
You have to put this in perspective this was 30 years ago and Television during the mid to late 70s was full of standard situation comedies and some of their themes reflect the time period that the writer's and producers were in. You have to realize that there were only the Big 3 Networks at the time and they had to hang on to the shows that not only brought in the viewers but the revenue dollars as well. This show was a staple of Tuesday nights during the 70's.
That song means so much to me, especially the past four years. This song brings back memories when Peter Joyce and Lady Diana and I had some fun back in the early eighties.
I have a lot to say about this for the television et movie et music et literary industry.

Amazing how people critizie a TV show like this just because they did some out landish things on the show. Hell people in real life do lot of dumb things like I mentioned. This was just a TV show. if you don't like it then don't watch it, it's that simple. I loved this show and enjoyed watching it.
Jumping a shark on water ski's can't be more dumber then people rideing a motorcyle in real life and jumping over cars and , buses ,trucks, semi's ect ect like Evil Kenievil did as well as his son. I mean this is just a TV show that is all. Plus people have actually riden bulls nothing dumb about that.
But the scene was dumb. Fonzie is supposed to have cool and funny solutions to problems. Here he just rode a bull, and that was it. Then the crowd got all glowing and congratulating.
well he did solve a problem... he helped them save a ranch can't ask more then that from anyone. but to each there own...I know and understand every has a opinion on the show.. I enjoyed it.
I said that he is supposed to have cool and funny solutions to problems. Then I said that he just rode a bull.
That implies that I acknowledged the fact that he indeed solved a problem, but I was trying to express that it was an unremarkable solution. Or at least unremarkable in the way it was conducted.
I dunno why everybody hated it whenever Fonzie did a crazy stunt. That's what made him so special, whenever something bad happened or if someone was in trouble,Fonzie ALWAYS came to the rescue.
I remember this episode well. I liked how they would show the Cunninghams in outdoor scenes. It brought more realism to their characters to change scenery and not always show studio sets. This was very well done and had beautiful filming. Such a special show and no matter how "campy" someone thinks it was. The 70s are gone and those types of happy shows are no longer being produced. I sure miss that time!

For me, the charming part is realizing how Marion Cunningham always addresses Fonzie by his real first name, Arthur. There is such a feeling of motherly love and mutual respect in that gesture that makes the interplay of the characters so special.
Ricihie it is not so dumb either aaaaaaaaa
