classic choon. i was fortunate enough, to know KAMANCHI SLY. one of the great UK emcees, along with THE ICEPICK, KINETIC EFFECT, HUNTKILLBURY FINN, and T.L.P. 1.
This song is a PERFECT example of something that was severely lacking from hip-hop beats in '96, and unfortunately tainted almost every single rap instrumental from that point onwards: hard-hitting, pulsating drums with a minimalist melody behind them. I had heard another track from this emcee earlier, where he sounded, interestingly enough, like Chuck D. Not so much here, but he still manages to come through with hot lyrics and an ability to ride the beat that rappers nowadays WISH they had. :)
Oh... in that case, this must have been one of those situations where a song from many years ago was used in a movie later on. My apologies... honestly, when I heard it, I thought to myself, "wow, this sounds vintage. It's awesome to have this sound in 1996, but it probably would have worked much better several years preceding." Looks like it WAS preceding. Sorry about the mistake. I'll have to get the original release of this song in due time.

One of the best Hijack Tracks. And yes, «The Horns of Jericho» (this tracks missing) is a timeless peace of Hardcore Rap. Thanks
