Actually, this is her second shot at it. She screwed it up so massively in her first attempt they quit playing and started over. I love both sinead and pink floyd. It's just what happened. People make mistakes no biggy.

@delfaver Actually, no. They had a power outage during the actual concert recording, twice, actually. Once during "The Thin Ice" and again during "Mother". The recordings used were from the rehearsal show recorded the previous night. Nice try, though.

To say that The Band is pathetic, or doesn't belong on stage with her is just obsurd. Obviously your taste of music is different than mine, I mean, you listen to Sinead. This was made when the Berlin wall came down as a benifit. I think Sinead did a great job. But if you ever see the DVD, Roger says this was a film of her at the dress rehearsal. She walked off and didn't show at the full concert. 'She thought she was a little too grand' quoting Rogers. I love 'The Band', their Gods. But having them back her with the southern twang thing just doesn't seem to work.

I thought Sinead did a really nice job here and I love the accordian. And I am a Pink Floyd 25 year fan and purist. THIS show was not a pink floyd concert so everyone chill. Think of it as a benefit concert supershow with celebrities. I thought Roger got plenty of pure Floyd moments while letting the stars do their thing. Not all of it worked, but I thought Mother was one of the better moments.

This is NOT Pink Floyd--just Waters, 5 years after he officially parted ways w/ PF. In other words no member of Pink Floyd (at the time this was recorded) is present on that stage. Just one FORMER member. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Waters fan, I own this DVD (and all his other works), and I've seen him 3 times. Still, he's not Pink Floyd. Officially, there are really only 2 remaining members of Pink Floyd--David Gilmour & Nick Mason (since Rick is no longer with us, sadly).

Probably the best performance of this song by a well known artist. I've listened and watched other "big name" artists try to do the song and it always flops. Yeah, it will never be PF, but, this is a very acceptable rendition of the song.
