I think you are wrong about the loner/socially awkward profile of murderers that you describe. There have been several murderers who were sociable, well liked, married, parents, and still commited henous acts such as this recent one. Look up Joe Stacks for example, or Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, even Lee Harvey Oswald was married with children.

Add to that the fact that Loughner was bunkered down in his moms basement, watching conspiracy videos for weeks on end, experimenting with the kick-ass psychedelic Salvia Divinorum, and you have a real recipe for disaster. I think by the time he gets the needle though he will be all sobered up and probably remorseful but that is a minor point.

Not his parents, [They should have institutionalized him waaay back in the day.] not his ex-girlfriend(s), his other social friends, his classmates, his teachers or the people in charge at schools he attended.
