Hey Courtney as one of your friends I love you to you are an amazing person thank you so much you are the reason I started doing book reviews so I thank you with all my heart god bless you :) :)
@Dmfriend26 thank you so much! *hugs back* i don't think there is one person who i've spoken to about this book who hasnt cried! whether it be at the end or the middle, you just can't not cry during some point in this book!!
Just finished this book 30 minutes ago and I picked it up around 5 PM. I did not stop crying after reading page 239. The tears just kept flowing. I will remembers these characters for as long as I live.
I don't think I have ever Cried, Laughed, Smiled, had Mixed Emotions, and even just purely been pissed off about any book I have ever read before.
This is one book that will stay on that roller coaster that only goes up.. :)
hi courtney! i love your videos! they are awesome! i just started youtube and i would love to hear your thoughts on my channel..could you check it out? thx!
I totally agree with what you said - if you only read one book, read this one. Well put. It covers all the big questions of being human in such a remarkable way! It's genius.
Wow Courtney! This was an awesome thoughtful review. I have not read this book yet, but after watching you're video, I'm making it a promise to get it as my next book purchase =)
This is better than any "review". It was so refreshing, the honesty, and to witness some of the emotions you got out of the book.
I have been wanting to get this, and I will, but this video has truly sold me on it. I don't think I can wait very long to get my hands on it! I just want to experience what you have.
To be perfectly HONEST with you I only watched a little over a minute of your Video. BUT YES, TFIOS is a personal story and everyone has a personal journey with it. AND words cannot describe that journey.
The way HAZEL couldn't fully articulate her Relation with the book AN IMPERIAL AFFLICTION is how I feel about TFIOS. I haven't read any of the other comments people posted on your channel. But this particular novel is so Personal that it will surely become an instant CLASSIC.
"To live your life normally, and healthy" - and that right there is why I will struggle greatly reading this book, as I have several chronic diseases and sadly don't fall into the 'normal' contingent of readers, hehe. And as with so many other readers, I have lost family and friends from cancer and suicide too, which will make it additionally tough. I certainly WANT to read this novel, I just know that I won't cope well.
Thankyou for such honest, sincere thoughts and responses, Courtney. *hug*
@NEHOMAS2 even though i did make the comment about being normal, i completely agree in the statement that "normal is overrated". i am sorry if my comment offended you, but i guess i got a little caught up in what i was saying and how i appreciate every moment that i am healthy and happy. i honestly ddnt think i would cope as well, but in a very odd way, it reminded me that even though a lot of bad (excuse my language) shit can happen, they're is always a silver lining somewhere in the saddness
Thanks for making this video. I read a lot, but there's not many books that actually leave a long-lasting impact on me. I'm positive that The Fault In Our Stars will. The characters, the writing, the message... I just feel like the book woke up a certain part of me, the part of me that before took life for granted. I never take the people in my life for granted or the things I have, but sometimes I think we forget to be thankful that we, ourselves, are alive. I can't thank John Green enough.
@pinkokbyme thank you for enjoying it. i completely agree with everything you just said. appreciating every moment is something i've set out to do in my life, and i hope it can be yours :)
@CraftyStephie thank you. don't be scared! i was as well before i started reading it, but i was totally work every chuckle and tear! it is such an amazing story!
@CraftyStephie i'm very sorry about you're mom. it would depend on the cancer she got, but it is always good to go have a check up if you're feeling nervous about it. i get a physical once a year to check up on everything and i always go to the doctor if i feel odd, just because cancer is a reoccurance in my family
Augustus had the same cancer of a girl at my school had. She is such an inspiration to everyone. and it kills me to have to write this but she died in September. So reading The Fault in Our Stars especially about Augustus Waters, It hit hard for me. Great video though Xoxo <3
Thank you so much for putting up this really emotional video, Courtney. I sort of know what it's like to have to lose/nearly lose someone special and close in your life. I nearly lose one or two of my friends from suicide. It's exactly why people should be glad and grateful whenever wake up every morning because someone just took their very last breath. EVERYONE and EVERYTHING is going to die someday. People may not remember what you said and did, but they will remember how you made them FEEL.
