The reason people are mad about this video is because the title doesn't indicate its a parody, I figured it was mad tv cause it was in the related videos with another mad tv skit. That can be a little irritating to expect a honest video about the dalai lama, not get one and then see your spiritual leader skewed on a comedy show you've maybe never seen. I'm American, and didn't find this video comical (but not because I am a Buddhist). However, people have misinterpreted this video. You can't take a parody from a single TV show and inflect the view that a CHARACTER has upon an entire nation. C'mon. MadTV didn't do this to belittle those who are Buddhist. MadTV tried to incorporate comedy by utilizing a racist Steven Segal. In fact, I actually ended up laughing at the fact that the CHARACTER couldn't distinguish Chinese from Buddhists.
