Did anyone think 2.22 was a lot more like Gurren Lagann than Evangelion? I feel like too many people whined about Shinji's character in the TVA and wanted him to be more "badass and powuhful with the will to fight for his friends, like Ichigo!" Shinji's melancholy and weightlessness was part of what made the TVA so great, and not another hackneyed and cliche'd loudmouth anime like Bleach or Naruto. I really hope Rebuild drags its characters through the shitter again. Enough happy romance.

@Seraphimal Uh...Dude, did you SEE the movies? (Spoiler Alert) Asuka pretty much dies, Rei almost dies(technically she does) and only through sheer force of will did he even bring her back. And even then, it was all for naught-He just caused the Third Impact. I literally cried when Unit 01 Bit down on that tanker and you just hear Asuka's scream loud and clear. Its not happy romance, Gainax never has that. *cough* Simon loses Nia, dude. *cough* They love realism :P

Mari.......arguably the most normal character to ever pilot an eva.........minus the LCL fetish. I heard somewhere she was part british or something, so I expected the dub to give her a slight accent.....they didnt, but they did a good job on her voice

I just hope they dont let asuka get mindf**ked like in the original. I thought they dropped her character to early in NGE and in the rebuild, but she will return with an eyepatch(although her role was okay in the end of evangelion, but it wasn't enough in my opinion). on another subject, the music is very impressive.

I also forgot that kaji died in NGE (I'm a terrible person to forget T_T) so I wonder how he will die. so both shinji an rei will experience being deep inside the eva, But i'm worried on how shinji will get out of the spear of longinus, and if rei 2 comes back in human form(since i think she "merged" with unit 1, but she might just slip out like shinji did in NGE).

@ShukakuTheCrazy1 the shinjiXasuka matchup was mostly around the end of evangelion so your right, but in the end all three were together(but rei is watching over shinji & asuka). I wish the song "fly me to the moon" played during the credits of the movie while showing eva unit 1 still floating around the moon in space, and at the end of the song it would show shinji,asuka, an rei sitting on the shore (heads together) looking at the moon an stars.

I started watching the rebuilds early in this year. and still nothing new is anounced for "Q"(quick, or 3.0). well after the rebuilds, they should port the NGE series on blu-ray because I'm still trying to get money for the platinum collection with the big platinum/shiny box to complete and search for all the volumes(just to let you know, I have the thin pack platinum series of NGE).

Kaji must die, its part of the drama of the series, you know in real life sad things happen and good guys die too. End of evangelion was a brutal ending but a very decent one, I surely dont expect a happy ending.

@fesaly92 Yeah, its just pisses me off that the soundtrack parameter that everyone compares any composition nowadays is just Hans Zimmer, I mean, the guy is good but not as good as Enio Morricone or Danny Elfman, and he is certainly not veryinnovative. This track obviously is inspired by carmina burana, everyone has done that (even Yoko Kano, remeber escaflowne?) and dozens of movies has slightly variations for it, its good for epic moments.... and you have that OST, maybe in MP3 format....

Mari was introduced to rebuild, partially as a replacement character for Kaji, & is also used to lead the plot away from any events that may lead to any plot holes. which is also why they only have 12 angels in rebuild, instead of the original 17. that sucks 'cuz Leliel is one of my favorite angels

@onward101 Yeah, she has some grit to her. I'm sure we will see what/who she really is in the final two movies. She seems way to calm around these evas. She also seems to lack any emotional problems that the other two human pilots, shinji/asuka, face. Karwu and Rei both understood far more about the eva's and angles, and so does Mari. WHY? Is she a part of adam or lillith? I have no clue, but if she helps Shinji then I'm all good. "I feel bad about using these adults to get what I want."
