I was at this game and that was really a cheap shot to doans head. It was FAR from a legal hit, and doan was bleeding under his eye. I'm glad he came back and beat wiz down later in the game. I was at this game and that was really a cheap shot to doans head. It was FAR from a legal hit, and doan was bleeding under his eye. I'm glad he came back and beat wiz down later in the game. Not only is doan a tough player, he's not a DIRTY player...something people should keep in mind. If he fights, theres a damn good reason.

This is the most obvious case of an elbow I have ever seen! Anyone who says this is a clean hit does not know what a clean hit is. Doan is one of the toughest players in the game, a cheap shot like this is the only way to knock him out. The suspension was warranted, end of story. I hate the people who go to hockey games just to see the fights and hits. If you are gonna go to a game, enjoy the grace and speed of the game. Hockey is the best game there is. Go Coyotes!

Elbowing is two minutes, and wasn't called. So they missed elbowing, but that isn't worth two games.
If Dion Phaneuf can break Ebbett's nose with no suspension, and Ovechkin can slew foot with no suspension, then this is nothing.
For goodness sake, he left the ice for ONE SHIFT and came back to fight. That's a 2 minute minor, double minor at WORST.

No, I'm saying that if the NHL is going to make suspensions, they need to be consistent. Phaneuf is just one example. This is not anywhere near hits they typically let go.
It is borderline if it even touched the head, which should be the grounds for suspension or being called "dirty" instead of simply being a missed penalty.
He couldn't get up, but that's hockey. Sometimes hits land like that and players have their head down and aren't prepared. That doesn't make it dirty.

The part that pisses ducsk fans off is that the inconcistency goes against us and the FLyers, as clearly documented in SI last year. Since the lockout, these two teams LAP the next closest team in majors, suspensions, and PP differential. Anaheim leads that this year by a large margin.
Leading is one thing, but being more than twice the next team, when you have video evidence that other teams do the EXACT SAME THING can leave a fanbase frustrated.

First of all I think we've already established who's the stupid one here. Second he ducked out of the way to try and avoid the hit, ANY hockey player knows you can put yourself in jeopardy if you do that. I have played hockey when I was a kid before I grew boobs and developed into the type of girl that you could never get.

Because it wasn't a dirty hit, it was an unfortunate play. There was nothing malicious about his hit. And I would say if it was a dirty hit, Artyukhin's hit last week was dirty, it should have never happened. That is coming from a Ducks fan.
