@SuperQuickStick You're right, with stock suspension it won't turn. But put a good suspension upgrade on the GTO and it will become something much better. Straight line racing is easy. I like turns and lots of them.

some of you are forgetting that the s2000 was not designed to be a straight line racer, its a light weight balanced machine suited for the track and twisties. with that in mind, ir kept up with a modern "muscle car" that shines on the highway.
@Vaicurious GTOs dont have four doors. Also the S2000 is very lightly modded, we're talking 250bhp tops with some mild weight reduction. It's still down about 100bhp. You cant tell me that a 100bhp advantage should result in 1 car length.
I'm not knocking the GTO, my next car very well might be one. Its a superior daily driver than the s2k; more spacious, comfortable, and torque for driving around town. And the engine is easier to get power out of. but the s2k is better performer IMO.
@BlueAvenue22 its just a higher revving engine thats lighter therefore doesnt need as much power to produce the same numbers on the track. Id rather own a more reliable car like a mustang because without those high revvs the engine will last longer and require less maintenance, not to mention they sound better and look cooler and most girls would rather be in a mustang than a 4 banger honda

@Vaicurious It is what it is. That S2K obviously wasn't boosted, and from what I can tell, probably only had bolt-ons. No V8 should have a hard time pulling on a 2 liter 4 banger with only minor upgrades. That S2K probably didn't even have 300 hp....Give credit where credit is deserved.
@obbyb1 yea. as a the rpoud owner of an 06 6.0 GTO I can say these cars were never meant to turn fast. these are bottom line drag cars. pretty much only good in a straight line.
the way i see it is that a v8 weights more than a 4cycl. 2 seater car that weights absoultly nothing...you take the weight offf the gto and it will SMASH the s2000

Most goat owners usually don't mess with the throttle body unless they have a bigger aftermarket intake manifold as the hp to horsepower gains just aren't there. I ported my stock 90 mm throttle body on my 06 gto and didn't notice any difference what so ever but it was a fun little project and was free "if you have a dremel".
Chances are the gto is bone stock. The gto comes standard like every other car with a throttle body lol. Did you mean ported? Or bigger throttle body? Even a bigger and ported throttle body on these cars will only get you a net gain of maybe 5 or at the max 10 hp with other supporting mods. The only noticeable difference would be throttle response.
@hiluss the way i see that, a glorified ricer with carbon fiber hood,roof,trunk lid,gears , shifter, intake. Basicly a extremely light car got lightned even more and had a couple grand thrown in it. Got beat by a heavy v8 with only a throttle body on it. Bet the 2000 owner feels like shit :)

@hiluss hp/lb ratio.... thats what really matters in racing... the number of cylinders doesnt make a car fast.... so the way i see it the bigger engine more hp for the heavier gto beat the wayyy lighter smaller engine less hp s2k

You cant tell me that a S2K with a CAI is hanging with a Stock LS1/LS6 GTO that pulls 4.7-4.8 0-60 and tops out at 165mph STOCK

@Breze84 first off, I read the info for the video and show no real performance mods. Second the s2000 does not respond to mods that you do unless its forced induction, so the motor is worthless with basic bolt-ons, people have been trying for years to gain whp from the motor but none have been successful at gaining any real whp from the motor other that boosting. The car is very tuned from the factory there really nothing u can do to gain any real power, unless turbo or superchared.
@Breze84 the s2000 has won so many awards for is handling and engine it would make your head spin. It currently HOLDS THE RECORD FOR THE HIGHEST HORSEPOWER PER LITER RATIO OF ANY ENIGINE IN THE WORLD and is one of the best, most well balanced cars ever built. Now if your gto has 6 liters and your mods give you 30 whp well duh! its freaking 6 liter bro thats not very hard to do.

@Breze84 I know all this because i own an s2000 and have been tuning it for over a year now. I talk to many people who have tuned them and own them there worthless for bolt-ons ask anyone who own one intake, header, exhuast pretty much no net gains if any, sometimes people loose horse power.

@karsseboomh22 you are correct sir, I was pretty disapointed to find this out myself after i bought my s2k. Honda already built such an awesome motor you really cant make it faster unless you go turbo or supercharged. The best NA s2k ive seen (that you could still use for a DD) still only put out about 240hp (and that was with AEM EMS, exhaust, intake, headers and brian crower cams)
@0landese I've yet to find an actual match for it's performance. With a little seat time, any stock S2000 drive will hand a vette or other v8 driver their ass. Straight line driving is for losers. Fast drivers are fast in the turns. All this drag racing is pointless. Love my S.

In a straight line I can agree your GTO would eat me alive no problem, but on a track like touge in japan (which is what my car was made to be drivin on) my little 190 hp four banger will hold its own against any v6 or v8.

I own an s2000 and it put up a good fight here. LS series motors are no joke. The s2000 wasn't designed to go straight. If you don't know what I mean go drive one. Its such an amazing car and everything is so perfect. Only thing is it could use no power.

Unimpressed, first of all the 04' GTO is mostly stock and a 5.7 liter engine. Race against an 05' or 06' GTO 6.0 liter (with more mods on the GTO) and if the S2000 can still keep up. Then that would be an impressive race.

Just remember it's a naturally-aspirated 2.0 4-cylinder motor you're talking about. Any way you cut it, it IS impressive for a street-legal production vehicle without forced induction to keep up with a muscle car.
Mods? The s2k really has no major mods. Carbon fiber hood and trunk? The stock ones already weigh nothing, so no big difference there. Shifter? What about it? The stock one is damn short and perfect in stock form. Otherwise it has an intake and exhuaust, ok, maybe adding 15whp on a s2k, so hes pushing what, 210whp or so? So cwhcj, that is pretty impressive. Yea, the goat is a pig, but it has one main thing the "light weight" s2k does not, torque.
So they lightened a car that 's already lighter that has more perf mods and raced it against a full weight basically stock car and some of you are impressed ....so sad.

@Vaicurious It is what it is. That S2K obviously wasn't boosted, and from what I can tell, probably only had bolt-ons. No V8 should have a hard time pulling on a 2 liter 4 banger with only minor upgrades. That S2K probably didn't even have 300 hp....Give credit where credit is deserved.

Most goat owners usually don't mess with the throttle body unless they have a bigger aftermarket intake manifold as the hp to horsepower gains just aren't there. I ported my stock 90 mm throttle body on my 06 gto and didn't notice any difference what so ever but it was a fun little project and was free "if you have a dremel".

Chances are the gto is bone stock. The gto comes standard like every other car with a throttle body lol. Did you mean ported? Or bigger throttle body? Even a bigger and ported throttle body on these cars will only get you a net gain of maybe 5 or at the max 10 hp with other supporting mods. The only noticeable difference would be throttle response.

It will rape the S2K in virtually every other category that I agree with but when it comes to the windey's the 2790 LB S2K with a 9200 RPM Redline takes the "Base model C6"... I have given my buddies S2K 6 cars and the hit when my GTO was stock and pulled him by another 2... S2K's are not fast and facts are facts lol... You cant tell me that a S2K with a CAI is hanging with a Stock LS1/LS6 GTO that pulls 4.7-4.8 0-60 and tops out at 165mph STOCK

@Breze84 first off, I read the info for the video and show no real performance mods. Second the s2000 does not respond to mods that you do unless its forced induction, so the motor is worthless with basic bolt-ons, people have been trying for years to gain whp from the motor but none have been successful at gaining any real whp from the motor other that boosting. The car is very tuned from the factory there really nothing u can do to gain any real power, unless turbo or superchared.

It currently HOLDS THE RECORD FOR THE HIGHEST HORSEPOWER PER LITER RATIO OF ANY ENIGINE IN THE WORLD and is one of the best, most well balanced cars ever built. @Breze84 I know all this because i own an s2000 and have been tuning it for over a year now. I talk to many people who have tuned them and own them there worthless for bolt-ons ask anyone who own one intake, header, exhuast pretty much no net gains if any, sometimes people loose horse power.

Honda already built such an awesome motor you really cant make it faster unless you go turbo or supercharged. The best NA s2k ive seen (that you could still use for a DD) still only put out about 240hp (and that was with AEM EMS, exhaust, intake, headers and brian crower cams)

@Breze84 Unless you go turbo or supercharged no it doesnt. Each car has its own benefits, i really liked the GTOs i actually almost bought one but the stupid high gas prices kept me away. In a straight line I can agree your GTO would eat me alive no problem, but on a track like touge in japan (which is what my car was made to be drivin on) my little 190 hp four banger will hold its own against any v6 or v8.

@hiluss ya cuz that s2k probabaly had it floored as soon as he hit the apex, you just cant do that with a gto, my 540i doesnt have nearly the grunt of a gto but i sure as shit ditched one in traffic really easily until there was no more traffic then i got gobbled up.... GTO=cant take high speed turns without some decent suspension mods and really sticky tires...

I own an s2000 and it put up a good fight here. LS series motors are no joke. The s2000 wasn't designed to go straight. If you don't know what I mean go drive one. Its such an amazing car and everything is so perfect. Only thing is it could use no power.

And you obviously dont know of something called power to weight ratio, and yes gears make a world of differance for any speed other than top speed. and weight savings is weight savings when your racing a car that weighs 3800 pounds.

Unimpressed, first of all the 04' GTO is mostly stock and a 5.7 liter engine. Race against an 05' or 06' GTO 6.0 liter (with more mods on the GTO) and if the S2000 can still keep up. Then that would be an impressive race.

Mods? The s2k really has no major mods. Carbon fiber hood and trunk? The stock ones already weigh nothing, so no big difference there. Shifter? What about it? The stock one is damn short and perfect in stock form. Otherwise it has an intake and exhuaust, ok, maybe adding 15whp on a s2k, so hes pushing what, 210whp or so? So cwhcj, that is pretty impressive. Yea, the goat is a pig, but it has one main thing the "light weight" s2k does not, torque.
