how about using it to control flstudio? fucking god help me, everybodys saying they cant get the damn thing to work, thanks alot image-line!! anybody wanna buy one of these? cause Im fucked if I know how to get it to work! >=/
Do you mean it just doesn't recognise that it's plugged in at all?
Or that you can't assign knobs to things in Fruity Loops?
Or you can assign knobs, but they don't behave as expected?
Have you used other controllers successfully with Fruity Loops, or is this the first one you've tried?
I wonder if you might be best off trying to use it as a pure MIDI controller (using the MIDI OUT port), rather than the USB connection. Could be worth a try.
@abstractbrainscans also there does appear to be a guide for this, on image-line's forums. it's the first result on google when you search for: bcr2000 fl studio
This is in my old kitchen. This video gets more nostalgic each time I return here. Which is a good thing. Because other than nostalgia, I swear I'm just blathering random numbers, and squelching out random noises. :>
I am trying to use the bcr2000 with resolume and modul8 but when I try to midi map it none of the buttons and knobs work I use a MacBook do you know how I can get it working my other midi controller works with the software just not the bcr
Make sure you have it set to the appropriate Operating Mode. You can set them to Stand Alone or USB, etc. Each different mode changes how the MIDI and USB ports work. So make sure you have it set on the right one for what you're trying to do.
@atommachine No worries man. You can download BCFREdit (a free editor for editing settings for the BCR2000), which is great if you want to make quite a few changes at once. There's a link to it, and more info all at the link that's included in my video description. Rock.

@nnniiiccckkkooo You'll need to look in the MicroKorg XL manual to see the page for MIDI Implementation. I did look it up once, out of curiosity, and the CC numbers are different from the original MicroKorg. You you'd need to assign the correct numbers for each parameter, but the rest of the settings should be the same, I'd imagine.
@xanxan6 Thanks! Glad it helped! I've updated my blog post at PunkNewWave where you can now also download the SysEx file that contains all the settings for this Preset, and you can dump it straight to your BCR2000, so you don't have to make all the settings yourself manually. :)
gosh, i wish you could help me with me setting up the bcr with the jomox mbase11... just cant get it done.. parameter change with the bcr, sound trigger with a keyrig49, all run through fireface400 using ableton... could you help me please?
@detroitcalling Man, that JoMoX MBase11 is cool! Just watching a vid of it now. Phat.
I looked at the manual online, and page 15 looks to have the MIDI Implementation shown there, with the Controller No shown there.
It's been a while since I set this up, but just plug MIDI cable from BCR2000 (out) to MBase (in), and then follow through the instructions from my document, but interpret it across to your relevant CC#s (100 - 122), and value ranges. Looks pretty simple. Give it a go!
@muzboz hey thanks for the answer... i tried that before.. but cannot get any value changing. on top of that, with the bcr in the chain, i cannot trigger the sounds anymore from my keyrig49 for some reason that i dont know... hmmm. i got the cc numbers and updated the bcr a couple of days ago but no success... not sure what else i could be doing - or doing wrong...
@detroitcalling You'll need to set the BCR2000 to Stand Alone Mode S-1 (see page 11 of the manual).
The "mode" defines how MIDI signals are routed in and out of the controller. Plug the KeyRig49 into the BCR MIDI in, and then have BCR MIDI out to the MBase MIDI in. That way, MIDI data from the BCR and the KeyRig shoudl both be sent to the MBase. Make sure all are set to send and receive on the same MIDI channel. That might help!?
@muzboz This document outlines a lot of the finer details for making the settings, which could help you set up your MBase with the BCR2000... such as setting up the MIDI channels, and operating mode, etc.
Search google for "punk new wave bcr microkorg" to find my post including a document that describes these steps in detail, which could help. (Shame I can't just put a link here, oh well).
@muzboz RIGHT... with your advice, i "reverse engineered" (lol) my own steps of uselessnes to see where i was wrong and found out that when I am trying to create a template for the bcr with behringers template editor, as i scan my system with the editor so it can find my bcr, it doesnt actually find it, even thought its connected via usb to the computer and via midi to the fireface... (i tried it with midi only and usb only - same result...)
@detroitcalling Oh, I have not used the BCREdit application. To use that, you will want to set the BCR to a different operating mode, I think. If it's set to Standalone Mode, perhaps it won't connect to the computer. You'll want to set it to one of the USB modes, I guess (see page 8 of the manual).
I just did all of my editing on the BCR interface itself, in the Standalone Mode. Maybe try it that way...?
Good effort mate, i don't own the microkorg but just seeing you putting in work and helping out people with this stuff is great. True Aussie spirit hah

@tastydolphinbrain Haha! My pleasure, TastyDolphinBrain. I like your name! Let me know if you get them set up..... I'm still wanting to know how to send the settings between the BCR and MicroKorg each time you change to a new MicroKorg preset!
@FlyingPlantMonster Lolzels. Hehe. A bit drunk now again. Been jamming along with Busos Band on me bass, trying to get up with the funky afro beat soul mode!
Once you get the hang of making settings for one parameter, the rest is pretty much just a matter of a little poking and prodding.
It's a good controller. Should work fine for your purposes.
There is also a LEARN button, where you press LEARN and the knob or button you want to set, then just tweak a setting on your other device, and it will be set on your BCR2000.
But I couldn't get it to work for me with the MicroKorg.

I think I just made it look hard!
