I just found out MGO is being cancelled on June 12 this year. If MGO is not in this game or not like MGS4's in any way, then I'm not even getting this. I really hope Kojima's working on a real MGS because the most recent one came out in fucking 2008.(I don't count PSP titles or HD bundles) It seems like as Battlefield is getting better, MGS gets shittier. :(

Some one say's Metal Gear to me I think stealth game. It's probably going to be a good game but I, like many others, will more than likely avoid because its not "metal gear" and don't want a child hood of gaming ruined by a character I never liked in a genre I don't care for.

I don't understand the hate. The cyborg ninja (Grey Fox) in MGS 1 was probably one of the best and most interesting parts of the game. I know I've always wanted to play a cyborg ninja. The only reason I beat MGS VR missions was so I could play the Ninja missions. This is a spin-off series based around Raiden, not Snake. Besides MGS 5 is being planned.

Those who complain about this not having stealth elements in it, and how the previous concept was better (I think so to), please consider the fact that the mixing of stealth and hardcore action was the very problem which buried the first design, due to balance issues.
The stealth elements didn't flow well with the fast paced action that was in mind. That all being said, I still think the old concept was far more interesting than this, though this is also fine

i don't think this MGS is made sirious. I think this is just a slice game with MGS charechters in it just so MGS fans can have some fun with raiden and go bad ass. Sorry to rant, but to continue; look at what this is trying to convey...Jack is clearly struggling with falling into the same patterns of himself as a child soldier under Solidus. Hideo is just a recycler; he's using the ideas laid out in his ultimate child to reinforce more important points to a new scope. True fans of the masterpieces Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa will at least not abandon hope. Just broaden your perspectives to experience the same impact in this one.
Though this lacks the promise of the same patient tactical gameplay of its predecessors, I have faith in the vision of a man who asserted himself as the Voice of God in the credits of his greatest masterpiece, whom sought to teach one simple principle: war is never a game. Time Crisis is a pretty cool game to play in an arcade, but if you had a choice to buy Time Crisis, or any one game from the Call Of Duty franchise including the Modern Warfare saga for you console gaming (at home) which would you rather buy? Even if you took away online multiplayer out of the question, Which game would you rather buy?
@HenryKrinkle666 That's what I mean when I say "Arcade Button Smasher"! It's a fun game but not something that you'll want to play over and over again at home once you've past the game the first time around. It's more likely a game that you'll play more at the arcade since you can't save the game, thus when you leave the arcade or lose you'll have to start over, and on curiosity alone you'll keep playing to see how far you can get the next time around, and to see what the next level is like.
I can understand where alot of people are coming from. Even though it's not distinctly tied with the series it is still set in the same universe and such many hardcore fans who have played the series since as early as the original playstation or even gameboy titles will feel like it's harming a game series which has been continuously popular for years.
i think i'll just play the original metal gear solid instead of this...i know MGS was always a bit over the top in places but had enough going on to keep it grounded...this now just looks like any other way over the top jap game...not keen...not one bit...such a great idea this was and could have been great had it been a little more subtle...what a shame..
It's Lightning Bolt Action, not Tactical Espionage Action. And clearly it's a spin off of MGS4 so theres no debate, you play as Raiden. Not Solid snake. hence why they call it "Metal Gear Rising"

Ahhhh... no wonder I almost immediately thought of Vanquish the minute I saw this video. Platinum games is developing it.

Comon, i don't mind the Metal Gear Series trying something new. Rising did the right thing, Rising Revengeance does it all wrong. When Rising got Scraped they should just have told us ''Sorry, the game is cancelled''. But i get it, Kojima invested money in it so it would be a great loss for him. Ok...what happened to the original story for this game, why is Raiden look like that again (since this is now taking place AFTER MGS4.), and what the f is happening to Metal Gear Solid. I'm sure the game will be fun, but none of what I saw in this trailer makes sense.

@sAmZy1993 A spin off does not mean you ignor the story allredy built around a Character. a Spin off is what it says, it spin's off the main plotline, but still keep's trou to the plot it came from. But continue it's own way. well this completly ignors Raiden ad a Character and ignors the story he came from. It's a unusual spinoff.

Those who complain about this not having stealth elements in it, and how the previous concept was better (I think so to), please consider the fact that the mixing of stealth and hardcore action was the very problem which buried the first design, due to balance issues.
The stealth elements didn't flow well with the fast paced action that was in mind. That all being said, I still think the old concept was far more interesting than this, though this is also fine

@Rodrigo00 I think that's what people are really pissed about. The fact that the little boy who couldn't stop talking about his relationship problems, is now a bad ass slinging Metal Gears around. Snake doesn't seem so impressive anymore, and his fangirls are upset about it. Snake is not that impressive anyway. He's a guy who chain smokes and sounds like it. How he didn't end up with lung cancer is a mystery to me.

i think its stuipd that raiden is this badass, in mgs 4 he was a badass BUT beatable just like vamp beat the fuck out of him or the gekko ALMOST beat him. or how he stopped outer haven from crushing snake, he has too much lighitng, the lightning was a special trait he only had at the end of mgs4 it shouldnt be coursing thorugh his body every 5 seconds like a super saiyan from dbz. hes TOO powerfull that it wont even be that fun, he destroyed a metal gear in 5 seconds, thats wack

i don't think this MGS is made sirious. I think this is just a slice game with MGS charechters in it just so MGS fans can have some fun with raiden and go bad ass. This doesn't feel like a emotional/amazing story line i'm used to MGS. But this is still a trailer and this is my perspective on this. I might be wrong. Anyway it still looks amazing :)

Sorry to rant, but to continue; look at what this is trying to convey...Jack is clearly struggling with falling into the same patterns of himself as a child soldier under Solidus. Hideo is just a recycler; he's using the ideas laid out in his ultimate child to reinforce more important points to a new scope. True fans of the masterpieces Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa will at least not abandon hope. Just broaden your perspectives to experience the same impact in this one.

Time Crisis is a pretty cool game to play in an arcade, but if you had a choice to buy Time Crisis, or any one game from the Call Of Duty franchise including the Modern Warfare saga for you console gaming (at home) which would you rather buy? Even if you took away online multiplayer out of the question, Which game would you rather buy?

It's a fun game but not something that you'll want to play over and over again at home once you've past the game the first time around. It's more likely a game that you'll play more at the arcade since you can't save the game, thus when you leave the arcade or lose you'll have to start over, and on curiosity alone you'll keep playing to see how far you can get the next time around, and to see what the next level is like.

I can understand where alot of people are coming from. Even though it's not distinctly tied with the series it is still set in the same universe and such many hardcore fans who have played the series since as early as the original playstation or even gameboy titles will feel like it's harming a game series which has been continuously popular for years.

i think i'll just play the original metal gear solid instead of this...i know MGS was always a bit over the top in places but had enough going on to keep it grounded...this now just looks like any other way over the top jap game...not keen...not one bit...such a great idea this was and could have been great had it been a little more subtle...what a shame..
