@jackfung806 I have a Epiphone Special Sg model in red its the same as a Gibson Sg Standard And the Sg Express is for midgets it have one pickup and is like the size of Guitar hero controller so I have Epiphone Sg and the sg express is not that good and it dosent have same pickup to let you know so if your going to get a sg get this one because they are better

i just purchased the black version of this guitar, and had the neck proffessionaly reconditioned because it was bone dry, and I love this guitar, the tone is really great with the correct settings, and when adjusted, the action is just as good. i also love the neck design, it feels as good as any epiphone or gibson ive played.

hey anyone thats thinking about buying this instrument i have to warn that Epiphone SG special series is a very cheaply made series. I have owned my for almost three years and almost every piece of hardware has failed, pick ups 4 months after purchase, the Chanel switch broke(happens with other guitars too) the nut, the the jack input just broke 4 days ago need to be fixed oh and all the nobs fall off.. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

you should peel off the stickers... if your worried about having the sticky layer left on the area where sticker was just get a paper towel and soak ot in solvent then just give a light rub of the towel and it is perfect.dont worry about leaving a stain or greasy mark where your rubbed because it wont do anything to your guitar.a solvent is a liquid such as nail polich remover or lighter fluid

youre review wasnt very helpful. there is no white sg special. and youre guitar must have been made in a sweat shop because mine still works perfectly fine after 5 years.

i bought one a year ago. not too thrilled with it but its all i got for now. pickups arent too hot, have to tune it every time you pick it up , and about every five minutes if youre bending the strings for some soloing. plus i cant get rid of some slight fret buzz on the low E string no matter what i do. but good enough to learn on till i feel like shelling out the three grand on what i really want. I use this guitar as my main with a Marshall MG15, and a digitech Rp200A processor. It has on it a Mesa Dual Recitifier Amp Model that is Amazing! I jsut run that through the clean channel of the amp. great everything. The Pickups on this guitar could be a little higher output but still pretty nice. But definately, DEFINATELY gets the job done if not playing shows. But yes buy a used or older model of these becuase the quality of this particular model is crap. Just like Dean Guitar nowadays.

The quality was horrible. Nothing near compared to how nice mine was when i first bought mine. That aside, Mine was made in Indonesia. The nut cover reads "SG". Did I mention I bought the value players pack. I got a junk strap. Easily replaced (Dunlop!). The Epiphone 10W amp was a good beginners amp. Nice distortion for a solid state. I replaced the machine heads/tuners with Grovers. Stays in tune excellently! A good setup is all it takes to make this guitar roar.

Ive had my SG Special for 4 years now. I bought it from Musicians's Friend. Very nice beginner guitar for the price. Way higher quality than a Walmart special guitar. But DO NOT buy this nowadays. I recently visited a Guitar Center and grabbed this exact model, the same one I bought 4 years. My, has Epiphone's quality went down the drain! If I were to have never gotten the SG i got 4 years ago and went and looked at this guitar today, lets just say Walmart guitars wouldve been the better pick

my serial number does not have any Letter on its beginning, also has 10 numbers instead of 9

it doesnt say GIBSON, but SG in the top of the fretboard, as yours says.

can you help me to recognize if my guitar is a genuine epiphone or not?

all of em say sg on hte top of the fretboard this one is just idfferent probably because it was made somewhere else... if you look at all sg guitars they all either say sg or les paul on em...
