  • NICE

  • Its ironic that Kate is a pop sensation that actually deserved her fame

yet shes one of the few that shunned celebrity

    Inspirational really

  • Kate Bush: Such an amazing beautiful girl with a song, so increadibly hart to sing . She`s quite unike, and adorable, singing with an angels woice. Peter Pan is so entchanting, I can hear Kate over and again, nice....

  • this melody is just so hard to sing... She is just amazing.

  • stunning set of pics perfectly arranged. thanks! What a song! What a woman!

  • @kennywowie You're welcome!

  • Very nice, thank you symphonyofflowers

  • I didnt know that nightingales can sing in English. Beautiful

  • Kate is so unique. I am not sure that we could put her in any group, with other artists... thank you for the post,.

  • @eConsultingGroup Kate Bush is the name of the group XD

  • Just... just... beautiful.

  • 3:11 to 3:26 she should make a full song like this part. i could die on that

  • The magic that is Kate Bush ..

  • Kate's album covers have always fascinated me , Lionheart wasn't different, I got hooked by that mysterious and haunting image cover. So beautiful!

  • So beautiful. It's pure and innocent. I love it.

  • Brilliant 35mm photos! I too had a similar way to photograph my beautiful children. But my white family resented a 'mixed race relationship.. The songs by Kate Bush enliven my desires, for an 'enlightened society?

  • 4? - what's there not to like?

  • ...is it me or is there a hint of Emma Watson in the young Kate...?

  • What fantastic beauty and voice! I can only compare to Bjork.

  • beautiful thanks. makes my life better still, love this and shall continue loving it till the day i die

  • In the lion´s head at 0:05 and 1:05, as a child she always hides her spending (or other) money.

  • @Symphonyofflowers you make the best videos (slideshows) on Bush songs and loads them up here! I love you for it.

  • she's so cute!!! AWWW

  • wow she had such great style as a child!!

  • Entrancing.

Where on earth did you find all these photos?

I have no knowledge, but I really hope Kate had the idyllic childhood of which these photos seem to speak. Storing up thoughts and experiences to produce songs ranging from 'The kick inside' to 'Mrs Bartolozzi' and and 'Pull out the pin'.

You've got to admit, what recent media darling has produced anything more meaningful than 'Let's go dancing and then have intimate relations' type songs. Damn few. We need more Kate Bushes.

  • @TheQuietEye Thank you! Well, I found most of the pictures on Gaffaweb. Some are from Last FM and the rest are probably from Google. The video is over three years old so I don't remember where I found all of them.

And yes, Kate had an idyllic childhood. I have never read or heard anything else.

  • @Symphonyofflowers |I have just today received a copy of 'Under the Ivy', the biography by Graeme Thomson. I am always in two minds about reading bios of heroes, but this is extremely well researched and well-written, so far she has not disappointed my expectations - and it confirms what a (mostly!) happy childhood and interesting first period of her she had. Already up to Page 70 - trying to slow down so I don;t get to 'Aerial' too soon!

  • @Symphonyofflowers And regarding discussions about her next album, which it seeems may contain reworked tracks - I know it's not the same, but early on in 'Under the Ivy', Thomson contrasts her with other artists who go back over their catalogue to do Best Ofs and repackaged collections etc. etc. I do hope he doesn't have to eat his words. Ah well.

  • @TheQuietEye More Kate Bushes are less likely. In those days it was clear what the difference between a person of normal talents and a star was. These days, everyone is convinced that they are in some way a star. They think that entertainment purely exists as a way of allowing big egos to create a platform for themselves rather than to kindly share their gifts with other people. And the chances are that someone copying Kate Bush's style will probably do so in a rather cliched gothic way.

  • I'm amazed you don't have more views for this. Her music is for the countryside and childhood memories. Total peace. : D

  • Sublime...

  • I love this video. The pictures of Kate in her youth shows how special she was even as a little girl, and how her family recognized her talents even then.

  • Dear kate,

I love your beautyful voice....you are cute, charming angel.

Ich mag jeden Song von ihr und becommen stets eine angenehme Gänsehaut.

Es sind schöne Erinnerungen an ihrer Anfangszeit....

A part of me is you.....

    Love forever - Forever Kate......

  • I Love Kate Bush.

  • 0:05 - SO CUTE! I hadn't seen that one before!

I did not know this song before. It is unbelievable. A miracle happens.

  • This womens a genuis! I can't believe people do not like her music, it's just crazy. Inspiring lyrics

  • Great video. The Cathy pictures go perfectly with this song.

  • Probably one of my favourite songs by her! But they are all good so it is hard to have a favourite! Really, really great video... how you put her brother's pictures together to this particular song. I wonder if she has ever watched your YouTube videos...

  • this video is a art work! beautiful, and well done. thanks symphonyflowers!!!

    cheers

  • @z3z4z3z4z3z4z3z4 You're welcome!

    Wonderful work,uploader.

  • I love the song & Kate Bush... and absolutely amazing pictures! Can I know where you got them? :)

  • @chaoticmind21 Yes, I found most of them on Gaffaweb, and as far as I remember the rest of them are from Google and Last FM.

  • @chaoticmind21 they used to be on her brother's web site, not sure if they still are.

  • I like this song so much!

  • like a rose in my garden blooming beyond woards mutch 4 creating ty kate

  • @symphonyflower once more i saw the vid

and once more : MANY thanks for the uncredible vid

    the engineer from berlin :-)

  • @joha77johaa You're welcome!

  • God, I love this song so much! Every track on her "Lionheart" LP is a gem. Also, I like the photo of Kate and her brother, John Carder, standing in a garden-like sanctuary. Thanks again for this lovely posting.

  • You're welcome, but that picture is of Kate and Paddy.

  • Damn, I am loving the pics of Kate as a kid! She was such a precoucious child!

She had the maturity and knowledge of an adult but yet the preciousness and gaiety of a child! And the song fits the pictures so amazingly well.

  • you are not alone !

what a woman, is she from OUR universe ??

she is an angel, send to use from godfather himself

    greetings

  • I love these lyrics. This speaks like a manifesto to me. lol

We must not let age and the trials of life make us soulless, bitter people.

  • i love this woman, kate you are great !!!

  • 0:59 Such a stunning photo. Kate is gorgeous.

  • Im Here Kate - MR PaN himself

  • been a fan from the start what a woman would love to have met her she has everything

  • I don't know why we're talking about KB's mistakes. KB never made any mistake, just some music that my ears choose to classify as 'meh'. I love The Red Shoes, by the way.

  • when i was about 11 i used to fall asleep with this song on repeat almost everynight

  • 'When you wish upon a star. Makes no difference who you are. When you wish upon a star your dreams come true.'

Used in the Disney film Pinnochio, it is especially appropriate as both Peter Pan and Pinnochio are boys who will never grow up. 'Second star on the right. Straight on til morning' features in Peter Pan.

The link between 'In search of Peter Pan' and 'Wow' is lovely.

  • Love this song It reminds me of being at school when I was 10 in 1979, I play this when I feel sad. Lionheart is one of her greatest Albums and not left overs from the previous one that critics said.

  • Great song, and AMAZING to see all these photos of Kate at different ages. I had not previously seen these; how now released to public view, I wonder.

This song for me has mysterious poignant yearning quality.

  • Nearly all the photos of Kate as a child are from a book called "Cathy" that her brother John published in 1986. The book is long out of print but you can find the whole book online on various websites. And most of the pictures in the video are from Gaffaweb.

  • Worst best give it a break. This music to me is like air. There is no bad oxygen when your suffocating. Kate Bush is pure to me I only wish the haters of this world could open their ears and their fists. Thank you Kate

  • Regarding your comment of whom Kate could duet with...Well, there's me, of course..lol...Reality, though? Liz Frazer of Cocteaus would be an amazing collaboration...particularly because their voices have matured in the same time frame.....I love making up imaginary collaborations...

Take care, music is the only thing...

    VAZ x

  • I guess you mean Arosegrowingold? No, he is not me and he has never been me. I am myself. I would never dream of attacking my own videos like he does. Why should I do that?

  • I don't attack anything - just offer a few tongue-in-cheek comments on my likes and dislikes of the great KT's work!

All your videos are bloody wonderful and you deserve all the praise you receive (from me included) - but I'm not going to say everything she does is perfect, even if you pay me!

  • OK, I'm sorry. "Attack" wasn't the right word to use. And I'm glad that you like my videos. But it is frustrating that you are so negative to most of the songs on "Lionheart".

If I don't like a song or a video I just don't comment on it unless someone asks me what I think of it. And then I prefer to send them a private message about it rather than write a comment on the video.

And no, I don't think everything she does is perfect. I think "The Red Shoes" is her worst album.

  • Very nice of you SOF - as I've said elsewhere, I'd wanted an interesting debate on our differing views. With some reactions (see below) to what I've written, I think I'm wasting my time, so I'll find a more suitable forum than youtube.

And I adore 50% of LH, but 100% of TD and HoL!

  • I agree, although 'worst' is a somewhat strong word. The red shoes also has some very beatiful ones: You are the one, and Moments of Pleasure: and when I see the clip, that is a very simple one with Kate dancing around, it is a quite touching experience, I feel

  • Yes, when I said "worst" I meant compared to her other albums, not that it's a bad album. I think it's one of the best albums of the 90s. I guess I should have said "weakest" instead.

"Moments Of Pleasure" is a very beautiful song and my favourite song from the album. "And So Is Love", "Lily", "The Song Of Solomon" and "Top Of The City" are also great.

  • Yes Song of Solomon is great too. And.....I agree totally with your comment.

And thx for the vids on your channel.

  • Making a good living, from your own work,is what we all strive for.The word "artist "was not mentioned in your comment.Your playing on word's now, rather than to admit your own comment, echoed mine, which you then disageed with.I think ,we can both leave her on the unrealistic pedestal. Why not, that's what it's their for.

  • Please note comment 5 down 'And she's a commercial artist...'

I'd rather admire her as a great talent, than build her into something she's not (some goddess who can do no wrong).

If you start creating some fantasy image for her, I feel you're undermining any critical objectivity you have and thus rendering your praise pretty meaningless.

She's a genius, sure, but even she has made mistakes as most genuises do.

  • My last comment or we shall take up the whole site.

1] I was talking about your comment on"All the love",when i said the word artist was not mentioned

2]There is nothing to insinuate, that i over glorified her work to that extent. You should check out your own comment's,here and there for idolatry.

  • On 'All the Love' I used the words 'commercial product' to describe what she's not - here I used the words 'commercial artist' to describe what she is.

And I meant 'you' in the passive sense (could have written 'one' but it sounded pretentious) - please don't take it personally.

And any idolatorous comments elsewhere are the product of awe-struck wonder and are entirely my own fault.

  • Start naming a few mistakes Kate has made!!! I'm waiting!!! or are you growing to old:):):)

  • Disagree. Her music videos are genius.

  • K.B All the love:Arose ,check it out, your own words."If she was a commercial product, she wouldn't have done stuff like this.

  • I did write 'product' to describe what she's not - ie something produced by marketing men at EMI.

When I wrote about her, I called her an 'artist' - someone with perhaps the most unique vision of the world that I've ever encountered, but who is determined to make a good living from her work - she made a point of setting up a company to control her royalties very early - and she worried when The Dreaming didn't sell in the same amounts as NFE...

  • Comasti arosegrowingold, Hmmm this sounds like dejavu:):):) Exscuse me for being sooo late of missing this interesting comment, of how Kate Bush made a point of setting up a company to control her royalties very early- and she worried when the Dreaming didn't sell in the same amounts as NFE!!! Do you know Kate? I say you are a lier and whoever you got your information from there pipe must be broke n leaking for a long time!!! Sorry to inform you of the gospel truth I know it hurts! Ciao

  • arose...to my thinking, alot of her work could be viewed as commercial suicide but went on to be hits to a degree. If the worry of what other's thought came into play, would we have had the likes of the dreaming ect.

  • tqued25 - I suppose I feel less convinced of that in this case - it just sounds a bit mannered - as does too much of LH.

Now 'The Dreaming' - there's an album of someone singing how she feels.

And she's a commercial artist - she must have concern of how others view her work - let's not put her on an unrealistic pedestal!

  • Your to critical arose........ This is a great song and the great thing about Kate Bush is ,she sings as she feels, without any reguard to how others will view the end result.

  • ohh yea now i cry again:-)

  • Yep - all are entitled to their views - thanks for some considered responses. Others will be convinced

  • The song is supposed to be childish, arosegrowingold. Hence the name 'In search of Peter Pan'. Think it through.

  • My eyes are full,

    But my face is empty.

Great lines, but some of the others are too twee for me.

Perhaps it's age and experience, but I always find this track jarring alongside 'In the Warm Room'

This just feels infantile to me - like grown people with teddy bears.

Perhaps I'd have more patience if she'd written it as a child, not as a 19 year old...

Please don't accuse me of being unsentimental, though, I love 'Oh England...' and 'TMWTCIHE'

  • Well, this happens to be my favourite song from "Lionheart" and also one of my favourite Kate songs. It's also one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. This song means very much to me and that's why I wanted to make a video for it.

And this song wasn't written for the album. It was an older song that she rewrote. I don't know when she wrote it. And remember, the song is about a little boy, so it's seen from his point of view. That's why it may sound "childish". But I love it anyway.

  • you are the biggest dimwit on the internet.

kate is a person of varied interests, and varied emotions...thats why she put this song next to in the warm room.

you purport to be an intellectual but your knowledge of the subject is so daft.

  • I've never seen Kate in her childhood, oh God!

her beauty and talent has been all her life -

    a true angel

  • Beautiful song !

  • 'So I look in the mirror, too, and what do I see?

    My eyes are full,

But my face is empty.' ...

  • Meow:):):)

  • I can play this over and over and fall asleep to it all night. Kate Bush is as good as as it gets.

  • A real vocal gymnast.

    Her skills are outstanding!

  • Marvelously described..

  • Second Star On The Right,

    Straight On 'till Morning.

  • When You Wish Upon a Star, Your Dreams Come True....

  • Corr! she is pretty girl in her younger pictures ..... not that she is half bad now ..... :P Fantastic Artist ..... Nothing And No One Compares!!

  • Peter Pan will be always one of my favourite stories ever. I have always escaped to stories when I'm feeling rotten.

People always say I'm too sensitive, but my family loves me and I've got good friends...Still I want to find Peter pan.

  • Marvel ! Woman and song !

  • Vraiment superbe voice.

  • "Well when I am a man...I will be an austonaut and find Peter Pan"

This song and that line in particular, brings back that feeling you had as a child when you thought everything would be possible. It was magical, as is this song...

  • Beauty pours forth from Kate. This womans music regularly brings me to tears. I can't explain it..... just so lovely !!!!!

  • yeah, uve summed it up there

  • 2:12 - little sister and big brother making music. I see those ears run in the family.

  • Looking at those pics, I was going to say how well Kate dressed, even as a child - so effortlessly stylish. But then I thought, if she wore a plastic bin-bag with arm-holes, she'd make it look like an outfit to beat anything you see at one of the Queen's garden parties. You enchanting little pixie, you!

  • History clearly shows that in the majority of cases, talent goes unrewarded.

But for that chance encounter with David Gilmour, I'm more than sure Kate would have gone the same way. It's a crying shame and a horrible reminder that we live in a bonkers world. How many other Van Goghs and Kate Bushs have we let slip through the net over the years? i wonder.

  • Cette femme est délicieusement folle.

  • I just can't understand why there aren't more people who like this kind of music. It'd be so great to see incredible talents like her today. What an amazing song this is.

  • oh kate your music is more than amazing...

i am not even old enough to have been alive before the last part of the 90s, so i missed the whole kate bush era. i agreee that she should do another tour. until then...

THANK GOODNESS for youtube. great video well done, where did you get the pics btw?

  • Thank you! I found most of them on Gaffaweb, some on Google and some on other websites.

  • What a beautiful song, she was such a talented artist.

  • She still is.

  • She,s the greatest nobody comes near her.

  • oh kate my love, where have you gone?, the whole wide world, so needs your song, your beauty and your voice of gold, live on forever, never old,

  • Love Kate. Excellent photos, thank you.

  • like a gentle boss

  • ....Without any authority what so ever.

  • Kate my first love ,thanks for this.

  • I love Kate Bush and I love Peter Pan!!! I first heard this song when I was ten and LOVED it!!! Still LOVE it now!!!! Love the pics on this vid! Where did you get them??? Kate honey....... We desperately need more songs from you and vids and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE another LIVE TOUR!!!! PLEASE!!!!!! I was too young to see you live when you toured back in the days!! PLEASE KATE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • kate you encompass the world PLEASE COME BACK,The Rebirth Of Kate Bush Always and Forever The Great "Kate Bush Infinity" sounds great!!!!! LO-AMO SALUTE!!!!!

  • Again, awesome choice of pictures, really enjoyable!

  • Happy Birthday Catherine Bush the big 50 this in my oppinion is 1 of her greatest songs.

  • Kate do something to stop the human race being so stupid ,quickly

  • It's one of those songs from her late 70s very early 80s period which is once heard (even if only a very few times off the radio at the time) never forgotten. It takes you back to the period. From a personal perspective it suits me as it has a rather childlike aspect to it at times and I was a child at the time. It fits into a certain style of 70s music which is quite intimate and dark.

  • not dark ,soulful!

  • Deeper, enquiring ,learning and pushing more into the unknown, creative, new.

  • I'm so glad there's a posting for this underrated and lovely song from the elegant Kate Bush. Also, I really like the vintage black & white pictures of her including the ones with her brother and mother too. Well done Symphonyofflowers and thank you.

  • You're welcome!

  • like this song, love the way she holds the word empty.

  • Thanx for posting.

So interestimg to see so many Kate(s)!

Yes, she has a talent for being a model, I suppose, because she has various faces. Sometimes a simple girl. Sometimes a cruel witch or vampire. Sometimes an sensible and pretty angel. OOh, Kate, you don't know how much I love you.....

  • Liebe es.

  • Symphonyofflowers

    Thanks a lot.

  • theyre a family of artists as the photos show.

  • and these harmonies are fantastic thank so much sof.

  • You're welcome!

  • she is so photogenic i wunder if she ever did any modelling?!

but she has obviously had expierience on photoshoots!

    good work cousin

    xxxxx

  • No, she has never done any regular modelling, but she did some photo sessions for magazines in the beginning of her career. And of course she also did photo sessions for her record company. And since the pictures of Kate as a child was taken by her brother, you could say that she was a sort of "model" for him.

  • Very tasteful thanks.

  • "She makes me feel like an old man" Doesn't get better than this.

  • What a beautiful lady.

  • Kate looked so sad as a child.

  • This song kinda creeps me out

  • I think that's the intention :)

  • she was and always has been a beautiful child and woman- who managed to get access to those lovely photos of her as a child?

  • The pictures of Kate as a child comes from a book made by her brother. They can be found on several websites.

(Since you posted the same comment twice, I deleted one of them. I hope you don't mind.)

  • The book is called "Cathy". You can find the entire book online.

  • I found most of the pictures on Gaffaweb, and the rest on several other websites. (I don't remember all of them.)

  • Thanks Symphony, I didn't know this song was on youtube...I've been listening to this song alot over the past few days(on my old cassette copy). I had forgotten how much I liked it...cheers!!

  • Definately 1 of her best songs i could never get bored of listening 2 this simply AWESOME.

  • Thank you! I'm glad that you like it. This is my most ambitious video so far.

  • So great video.

    So wonderful song.

    I do a bad manip', sorry ...

    M

  • That's OK. I'm sure you meant well, but I just thought this song really needed to have it's own video.
