  • One has to admire that Eighties enthusiasm.

  • Goodness people... the movie is a fantasy! (Which by extension, so is the music!)

  • I've always loved this movie and this was one of my two favourite songs from the soundtrack, the other one being the traditional song Phillipe and Isabeu were dancing to in the barn. XD

  • lol... noticed some mentioned about 0:59 being good till then or after then... now I say "funny... I thought it was good from 0:00 to 3:01" ... ;)

  • como se llama la cancion???

  • 0:50-1:00

    The Donner's Company theme!!

  • I was too young to appreciate this movie when it was new. I embraced it sixteen years later at age twenty-one. While it took me a moment to adjust to the anachronism of the music, I discovered in the next moment what geniuses Alan Parsons and Andrew Powell were to create a homogenous blend between the majesty of traditional orchestration, synth pop and mainstream rock. (Also, Ian Bairnson's guitar kicks ass.)

Sorry, but I like the rhythm section from 0:59 on. It beats most recent pop scores.

  • @CircleCityEric You can hear alan parsons can't you.....I used to use this theme as an intro to my radio show...Love it

  • @MrSirDel Yep, Alan Parsons is one of my alltime favorite producers. His role in recording the score was immediately noticeable for me. :) And, I could think of worse themes for a radio show.

  • @CircleCityEric Thanks for the comment and the fact that you took the time to comment..

  • @MrSirDel Absolutely. I grew up with music like this, so it's really a part of me. Although I was guided to it through a synthesizer forum, I would've felt foolish not to say something.

  • The scene where they almost touch still makes me teary.

  • 8 people are cursed by the bishop

  • ich liebe diesen Film!!!!.....mindestens 8Mal angeschaut......meine mystische Seele...

  • @maggielli 8 mal nur? looooooooool ich hab den bestimmt schon 50 mal gesehen ;)

  • This track starts off so well, up until about 0.55, then it's blaaaaaaarghh! Noooo!

    And they knew it!

That's why the first (good) section, and variations of, is used as a mood piece IN the film itself.

  • Alan Parsons did some of the music for this movie as well. Great story, great acting, great cast and cinematography. Matthew Brodrick an unlikely casting worked out well.

  • la musica es fantastica ma canta y me motiva muxisimo asta me da ganas de aprender a tocar x solo tocar esta banda sonora de lady halcon ,, segur sin soys geniales

  • this is legend of zelda music right here!

  • beautiful music and fabulous movie

  • Nice film! And beautiful theme!

  • One of the best fairytales ever told.

  • @359lillian

    I agree :)

  • Thank you thank you! I thought I'd never find this music! I love it!

  • Best movie of my life! Many memories...

  • This theme is amazing, but I think only the first minute of it goes with the atmosphere of the movie...and I think the whole thing would sound a looot better with a more medieval-like arrangement and instruments.

  • love to be no. 207 that like that song and movie. Salute to all the fans of that kind of movies and music of the romantics and powerfull 80's. Who didn't like to be a knight and fight for the love of the lady of his dreams with that soundtrack. Labyrinth, tangerin dreams, alan parsons, mike oldfield, vangelis,... aunque hubiera otros grupos de mejor calidad como pink floyd, peter gabriel, king crimson, focus,... salud y saludos a todos. And thank you for sharing that nostalgic remember.

  • I love this movie, just love it, so heart warming and inspiring. Many old movies have themes that just say it all and remind you of the good times you had when you were young, and this theme is certainly no exception. Makes you feel good inside you want to dance.

  • I personally love this theme. I never think about how it's inappropriate for a Medieval setting. I just get all nostalgic for the '80s, lol.

  • @NeverDoubt1 I also love what Richard Donner and Alan Parsons did here. Orchestral music didn't exist in medieval times but everyone thinks that's the only music that is appropiate for period movies. I like very much experiments like Chariots of fire and this movie that try to create new emotions using different kind of music. I'm very sorry that this kind of experimentation is now considered goofy and that all modern soundtracks sound almost like the same with very little variations.

  • @tonihott2 It does seem like some people claim to want more originality, but then when they actually hear it, they panic, heh.

  • ein super Film

  • From 0-1:00 is perfection. They really nailed those Renaissance fantasy themes putting the viewer in that time period. Wish it didn't get so up beat afterward, the movie is about sorrow but I guess adventure needs its themes too.

  • Musique géniale pour un film.... génial

  • This is Gundam music right here.

  • My mom had this movie. Listening to the theme makes me nostalgic.

  • i love it forever

  • this song reminds me of Zelda twilight princess

  • Ooohhhhh the 80's were so full of energy!!!!

  • @gkmex13 Before the current cynical age of nihilism and death worship. I pity anyone born from the mid-80s onwards.

  • @waldentree I agree, the 90s were horrible.

  • @Parkerkun Romance in music died in the early nineties. Now it's mostly about sex, violence and materialism.

  • @waldentree Word. Not to generalize an entire decade, but I miss the creative, optimistic, colourful fantasy and sci-fi zeitgeist of the 80s. There are a few nice examples of which some of that stuff swapped over into the 90s a little, but in total they just made me feel bad, it was all so dark, brooding, cold and uninspired, filled with shitty techno music and boring action flicks. Heck, even the 2000s had way more to offer than the 90s.

  • @johnhowington Boooo!!!

  • I like when it gets all 80s and picks up

  • Thanks for post. Excellent progressive rock!!

  • grande son. adoro este musica

  • Michelle Pfeiffer is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. Can anyone compare?

  • @cltaurus

I totally agree!!!! A glacial and awesome glance, absolutely beautiful!!!!

  • 5 people on here are ree-rees. LOVE, love, this movie!

  • Brings back sooo many memories...thanks for the post!

  • EPIC =)

  • does anybody know how to get a hold of this theme

  • love it!!!! loved the movie :)

  • Thank you! I wanted to hear!

  • I love this movie. The scene where they almost touch still gets me :(

  • GRANDE COLONNA SONORA DI ALAN PARSONS PROJECT

  • I LOVE this movie!! Ladyhawke FTW!! Navarre + Isabeau FOREVER!!!

  • Ettien Navarre Captain Of the Guard!!!!!! Need I say More??? I swoon,...

  • This is one of my favorite fantasy movies from the 1980s, along with the Gilliam trilogy ("Time Bandits", "Brazil", "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen"), "Labyrinth" and "Willow" to name a few. What truly enlivened the film was Matthew Broderick's unsinkable humor and constant running comments to God. :)

  • @QueenBoadicea

haha you are the first person i see mentioning al of my favourite childhood movies (although i was born in the late 80's, and saw these movies in the early nineties, i still think of them as childhood moies :)

  • This wonderful and memorable fantasy movie tells about a love story. And mark to all future generations, the love's essence.

  • I love this music. All I can think about when listening to it is Navarre pwning people with a crossbow. ^_^

  • anybody have this theme in mp3 format?

  • @ShakespeareHamlet let me have a crack at it. PM me and i will get back to you.

  • @LAmonk76 alright thanks

  • One of the 80's best fantasy movies! it was a golden age when people had this, Excalibur, Willow, Dark Crystal, Legend, Labyrinth, Princess Bride, Time Bandits, Brazil, Heavy Metal, Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Totoro, fire and Ice, Return to Oz, and more.

  • amaizing movie :)

  • This movie alwayws drives me mad!

  • this movie inspired me to become a knight!

I am still working on it tho >_>

  • Keep working - don't give up! ;)

  • @fabiobit - It's not difficult. All you need to do is learn to shoot really well with a crossbow while listening to awesome synth music.

  • @fabiobit I LOVE HORSES

  • one of the greatest soundtracks

  • Stupendo! Ma la musica non è di Alan Parson Project?

  • si!!!

  • this reminds me of the the legend of zelda theme

  • probably the only time a synth theme worked with a fantasy film. Good job on the upload

  • what about Legend with Tom Cruise, Tangerine Dreams synth score is wonderful.

  • @phastasm

I agree but what about Jerry Goldsmith's score? i'm into classical scores and whatever scores there are. And what about the score in Dark Crystal, Princess Bride, Willow and more fantasy movies of the time?

  • Motion picture soundtrack same as title

    Ladyhawk

  • soundtrack ?? name ?? or album?? :D ty

  • I found sound track on amazon

Currently using some music in my you tube video part one. A knight and his lady.

  • Very nice music and one of the best film!

  • Love this movie so much that we did a video at our renaissance fair in Escondido , ca.

Would love to have sound track mine is ruined

  • I loved the beginning to bits...

But as much as I want to say I enjoyed the rest, I didn't. It had some good parts even at the end, but the electronic peices in the song throw me off a bit too much.

  • Great movie, terrible soundtrack. Sorry Alan Parsons. This is the kind of music you listen to while wearing a headband and running in place.

  • I wouoldn't say it was terrible... just not to everyone's taste. Plus, what's wrong with wearing a headband and running in place? Hahahahah (joke).

  • think this song bravo

  • Up until 0:57 I really love it, I really do!!!!...But after that I am really so sorry to all the fans but I don`t really like it...Altough I think this film is an amazing classic...And Michelle Pfeiffer will be forever immortalized as the beautiful Isabeau d'Anjou

  • Ein wunderbarer Film. Und Michelle Pfeiffer hat nie schöner ausgesehen

  • Some people say that the music was too modern and electronic for a fantasy film, but I say NOT!!! Love the Ladyhawke soundtrack and movie.

  • amen to that

nobody mentions Chariots of Fire or Scarface though they were similarly scored

  • WHERE can I buy this soundtrack?! We have it on tape but not on CD. PLEASE let me know WHERE i can get it!

  • I've got the whole soundtrack on my harddrive. I can send it to you, or just the intro theme if you want.

Getting it in any store is next to impossible...

  • Best movie EVER!! I'm so happy I found this song on here! It's not on iTunes and that makes me mad but it's so good! :)

  • I can send it to you, I've got the whole soundtrack on my harddrive

but I have no idea if you how much you can send

ITunes? If I relied on that I wouldn't have all the hard to get music I have in my hard drive

  • my favourite movie, adore their lovestory

  • Best movie.RUTGER RAUER is a excelent actor.

  • My favorite movie and soundtrack of all time. LOVE IT!!!!

  • there's an artist calling herself Ladyhawke after this movie too

  • Hey, I think the theme music fits the film to a T - the anachronistic theme song is a perfect fit for a fantasy like this story is. Saw it for the first time as a 7yr old when it came out, so maybe my mind was open to interpretations like this. Result - I love it!!!!

  • music from alan parson projet?

  • music from alan parson projet?

  • the only thing its missing is some cookie cutter 80's electric guitar.

  • This is one of the best movie scores ever. I've watched the flick many times. Also own Excalibur. Originally on VHS, now have both on Dvd. Think E-bay Marius !

  • Great musics,great story,great locations..great movie! 5/5

  • IT`S 10 out of ten! come on I know your smarter than that.

  • The intro to the song was great, very mystical and entrancing, but when the pop beat comes in, it changes the mood and somewhat reduces the overall potential greatness of the song...

  • It's on amazon but for like 67 bucks, I found it on e-bay for 50 that was the cheapest I could find

  • nice song with a good flow thank you

  • Such a good piece of music. I must get this soundtrack sometime, along with Excalibur, another good 80's movie. Thanks for the upload.

  • I'm not interested in what a bunch of fools think. Given what is popular I'm not surprised that this was criticised. This is a well written score, anyone even remotely interested in music will agree.

  • I salute you. It's funny how nobody bashes Chariots of fire, when it has a similar soundtrack which has absolutely nothing to do with the time era of the film. Scarface, The Right Stuff, Firestarter and plenty of other have similar types of music.

But critisizing Ladyahawke because its music doesn't suit a movie set in the middle ages is what the drones all do.

Possibly the most underrated score of all time.

  • I don`t dislike it, I quite in fact like it, but only up until minute 0:59

  • @methaphisic - Funny. To me, 0:59 is where it gets really good. XD

  • I just want to thank you for even having this one up here. I love this music but have been unable to find the soundtrack.

  • I've got the whole soundtrack on my harddrive. Don't ask how I got it there, lol.

But back in the good old days of P2P sharing, you could find any soundtrack from any movie if you searched hard enough.

I could send it to you.

  • dude no fair, i've been looking for the soundtrack forever... -_-

  • I could send it to you if you give me some a mail adress. Last time I sent it I needed to send 3 different mails to fit the entire soundtrack.

  • Hallo can you send me that lady hawke sound track ? I love this movie so much and been looking for the sound track so long ( sorry for my english)

  • Send some e-mail adress to me and I'll fix it.

  • @666paja666

    nejsi náhodou Čech? :-)

  • (Just a visitor to the site)...it is hard to find...I have had to special order it twice...but it is worth it. I place it on the same level of the mission. (And I am a piano teacher, so I don not say that easily) :)

  • @Lessiehanamoray neither have I, and I've looked everywhere. T_T

  • @JuskaBoarTaggerung I can show you a way to download it. If you like send me a message to me if you want to know and ill talk you through it? :D
