I've gotta say this is my favorite out of all of them. I love anything to do with water and megaman. I hope theres lots of secrets in the underwater caves because I want to spend some quality time down there!
wow i just have to tell you the soundtrack to Megaman X Corrupted is the best since Megaman X1! I havent feel like this about a soundtrack since Megaman X1. You sir should really be working at capcom or screw that start your own francishe or something cause this is seriously amazing!
@Fagoala Mine too, actually. I love its echoing bubbliness mixed into the rest of the techno music. It's quite impressive harmony to me, the way two seemingly unlike things blend together so well.
I know this is a little late from me, but where can one download the game & is it ready fr play? cause Ive been a fan of your work for over a year now & Im a huge MMX fan so if I may, may I play this game >.<
Hey dude these songs are great and they sound like real X tunes! My only probably is, nearly ALL of the songs are the same chord progression! Whats up with that?
I like how the whole game's soundtrack has a mixture of the instruments of Mega Man X 1 and Mega Man X2, though I prefer a use of purely the instruments from Mega Man X1. This tops anything from Mega Man X3 and 2 for sure! Oh, and I also like how the game is more like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Mega Man seriously needs to grow up!
I've been studying the original music for some time now, as I'm doing a little project of remixing classic Megaman songs into Megaman X songs, both as the original tune and as a full remix.
I've been making these in a tracker, and I swear, that's exactly what they made the originals in, because the tests I did using Sting Chameleon fit perfectly. Also, I've learned 2 tricks the original composers did to make the guitars sound as kickass as they do. Interested?
Well, there are 2 guitars playing the same notes in many parts, and other instruments use this, I'm sure:
.
In X1, one guitar, usually on track 8, plays slightly louder, and at a frequency that's .995 Khz lower than the other guitar. The other guitar as a very slight delay... in a tracker, you have tempo and ticks per row, and I have it almost identical at 4 ticks per row, with each note and note end given a 2 tick delay. They're also panned a bit apart, giving it all an echo-reverb like sound.
But yeah, I made a test of Sting Chameleon using the dual lead guitars on tracks 1 and 8, and of the chorus guitar on track 4 (of which I have a 1 tick delay on), and it sounds so close to the original (with echo effects turned off in SNESamp), you can't tell if it's the mod file or the spc... even the cool vibrato sounds that the combined guitars make sound right.
.
My delay isn't quite exact, though... the SNES must have more 'ticks per row' and it's slightly more than half a row delay.
Actually, after checking just how much delay there is, seems it's way less than that... if it's 4 ticks per row, it's less than 1 tick, something like .0093 seconds or so.
Oops, a late correction... I mean the other guitar is .994 percent lower pitch, not .994Khz lower...
Also, I was able to simulate the exact delay by adding 168 samples of blank data on the front of a duplicate sample of the guitar... but that doesn't help with the note cut.
Totally unrelated to the video, other than it was the newest one:
Is there any way to be updated on how the project is going, other than subscribing to your videos? I'd hate to miss the release just because it was a while since I last checked your site. =(
I'll eventually make an official site for the game but meanwhile, just make sure you have recent activity from subscriptions enabled on your YT home page.
You know what? They could just call this Mega man x 9 I would defiantly believe them! just look at mega man 9 and 10! I sure hope this goes on PSN, Xbox arcade, and Wiiware!
This is wonderfully amazing. I felt like I could get lost in the tune alone. I find myself badly wanting this sound track. I love it. You have a wonderful talent.
That makes 4 outta 8 stage themes. You almost there. I was actually quite attached to the old underwater caves theme in that demo video, but this sounds more active and action oriented. Keep up the good work! 5 stars.
You saying that it will have multiple areas, will there be a map or something to help people find the bosses or will the areas they'll be in be pretty obvious?
Yeah, it does have that whole "Metroid" feeling to it when I first watched it. Honestly I think they just could of gone with the classic 1-8 stage, but I guess this will work as well. Either way it will be awesome when its done!
Likin' it; beats the old UC theme any day. Isn't this technically your second try at the ocean theme? Bet you're sick of trying to come up with one, haha.
@NitroFlasher Please, please release it in WAV format! Those who don't care for that stuff can convert it to crappy MP3 files, but these works deserve to be heard in lossless quality; these pieces just blow my mind.

The game is not divided by stages. It is a world map with around 18 areas not necessarily having a Boss on each one.
jkbproductions 2 years ago 16
Ah, so you're saying the map gameplay is more Zero/Metroid oriented corect?

Metroidvania would be the right term.
Pretty obvious if you have watched the gameplay videos.
