There are a lot of difference compared to a normal skydive: deployment procedure, emergency procedures, aircraft exit, stability recovery procedures, horizontal speed, etc...

Generally speaking, each "complication" (i.e. each difference between your routine jumps and the special one) you add is a danger. Since using a wingsuit adds a lot of complications at once, you should master the "normal" skydive before attempting to fly one.
