Love this! Warren Zevon is my favorite musician of all time, and I was lucky enough to see him live about 20 times. And now I'm learning the uke, so I'm so excited to see this--where would I find the uke chords for this? I must learn to play it! Thanks again, lovely tribute to Warren to have this being played (and the uke is almost Seussian--lovely!)
Hey Bill, careful you don't poke someone's eye out with that thing! It sure is 'kooky' and sounds surprisingly good given its elongated, snakey attitude.
Mmmm, I like that song too, especially the chorus. And I just have to get me one of those ukulele shirts.
Martin 3K? I wish! It's only a Kiwaya replica of a Martin 3M, but it is a very nice uke. Robert Armstrong painted uke? If only! It's a crappy old plastic fingerboard Harmony that a friend of mine, Carmenza Jiménez, painted.
That's exactly what appeals to me about the Polk-a-lay-lee (and those other 'kooky ukes', the Singing Treholipee etc), its ridiculous but cool appearance. It's a 'showstopper'.

hey bill, its rob here
this is a beautiful uke. although a bit...large?

You're not wrong, Rob, but that might be an advantage if I were to use it for busking. Can you imagine the damage it could do to a heckler?

Hey there BeareTube! Thanks for the kind comments, and sorry it's taken me so long to reply.
I've just won a Singing Treholipee on eBay, so I might chuck a demo of that up here in the next few weeks.
Cheers,
Bill

Thanks! You mean they have Internet access in Heaven, or that other place? Given WZ's sense of humour, I guess he might've been pleased.

Incredible. Sounds pretty good too, although it looks ridiculous.
Is that a Martin 3K and a Robert Armstrong painted uke in the background, though?

I used to have one of those Harmony ukes too. Sounded surprisingly good!
btw, this uke looks 'ridiculous' in a 'cool' way. And with the orginal box to boot! Now I want one... I have some overcompensating to do myself.
You certainly know your way around a uke. Looking forward to hearing more.
