Just imagine the disaster hearing Nedda by Dimitrova, Eva Marton or Guleghina!. Nedda is for a lyric, not like Te Kanawa or Netrbko of course!
this is pretty good. she still scoops, but it's better than her later stuff. I don't like her dress. Looks like a ripoff of the Queen of the Night's outfit in Julie Taymor's Magic Flute. :)
Her voice was so fresh and youthful then! No matter how she ages, Fleming is always wonderful, but it's also great to see her early performances to understand her vocal and technical development. All I can say is that her singing was already supreme and almost perfect even in her early career! ;-O
I was a part of the chorus as female 1st tenor with the Collegiate Chorale. The conducter is the late Maestro Robert Bass. Marge Raymond

I was thinking the same thing! It's definitely exuding Queen of the Night vibes.
But I do love this aria on her voice-- perfect color and style for Nedda.
