I am from Holland and ve always been a great Cook/Greenaway fan: Youve got your troubles (Fortunes), Sure he's a cat & What a crazy life (Cats) and Lovers of the world unite. I also loved Ten storeys high, and in my first year as a student (1970) I discovered that my landlady had a copy, with picture sleeve. She sold it to me and at that time I was annoyed that I had to pay the full price..
I have had their version of 'Softly Whispering' on their Greatest Hits LP for decades...also, i have a CD that was released for the same album. It is a bit better than the Congregation's version as you can hear the words better. Try to get the CD.
Fantastic! Such a pity Roger Greenaway and Roger Cook, two of the best songwriters ever, only performed as 'David & Jonathan' till 1968, then joined different bands like 'Blue Mink' and 'White Plains'. They kept on writing songs for other artists till the mid 70s, then ended their collaboration, after Roger Cook had settled in the US.

I'm looking for the same song. One of few that I've found hard to track down.

Singers, excellent songwriters and producers. Two icons of the pop music.

This is such a beautiful record. Kind of Righteous Brothers or Walker Brothers-sounding, no?
I never knew that these two guys were Greenaway & Cook!!!!!!!
I also love their record "Lovers Of The World Unite".

Roger Cook was in Blue Mink, but neither Cook nor Greenaway were in White Plains, though that group sang many of their songs.
